Game runs at single digit FPS after snap

Question

To preface, I have over 100 hours so far in Madden 26 with little to no issue. Starting a few days ago, every time I play the game it runs like absolute crap. Menus are passable but still are super laggy. When I'm in the play selection menu it is also somewhat delayed. When I go to snap the ball the game basically grinds to a halt, giving me single digit FPS as well as causing my audio to mess up.

I have tried:

Lowered all settings to minimum and ran the game in 720p
Repaired the game in the EA app
Reinstalled the game (twice now)
Searched for about two hours online and cant seem to find anything on this

Nothing in task manger is out of the ordinary, no spikes or super high usage and of course this game doesn't have a profile for Nvidia so I cant do anything in there.

Specs are: i7 6700k, GTX 1080, 32gb DDR4 3600 RAM, so I meet the min and recommended specs.

If anyone has any advice please let me know, as the game is genuinely unplayable at the moment

EDIT: I also just tried clearing the cache and it did nothing as well

i am having a similar issue.... the game will run completely fine for the first game of the night.... after halftime the game starts to stutter and have fps drops. it is perfectly fine in the play selection screen and before the snap. after the snap it stutters so badly and is unplayable.

every game after the issue starts is also unplayable until i completely restart my PC. i cannot even get through a complete online game. extremely frustrating

THE SAME THING HAPPENS WITH EA FC 26 TOO! so this is clearly an EA issue. every other game i have runs on the highest settings flawlessly

im so tired of seeing "switch to borderless" because i have tried everything already with no luck. the game is unplayable and i have a i9-14900K CPU and AMD Radeon RX 6900XT GPU

Same here bro. Did everything you have tried and nothing works. The game will run smoothly and then the second you go to hike the ball, it’s like the game dies.&nbsp;

hey man,&nbsp; actually just may have fixed this. whenever the lag/stuttering occurs, just disconnect and reconnect your controller. it fixed it on fifa

please see my other comment below. idk if itll work in madden, but it seems to have solved the same issue in fifa
