Have you tried the move license folder trick? Though this usually arises when a preexisting working game all of a sudden stops working.
One note: try just MOVING the license folder (say to desktop) instead of DELETING. That way you can put it back if the fix doesn't work.
Thanks for your reply DoctorDAM DoctorDAM I've already tried that trick, but unfortunately it didn't work for me for some reason. If I deleted the license file, it reinstalled itself; if I moved it, unfortunately nothing changed.
