Try changing out all of your gear. Possibly, an item is glitched. Also, if you have a custom gamerpic, try switching it to a default one.
It would be good to clear that alternate MAC address as well. Here are those steps:
Go to your Xbox Settings
Go to "Network", then "Advanced Network Settings"
Click on "Alternate MAC Address", and then click "Clear"

Community ManagerIs this only happening in EASHL games? Have you tried using an external drive instead? If NHL 23 has been in Quick Resume for a long time, try removing it. Also, if you haven't power cycled in a while, that should be done with these steps: unplug your modem, router and console. After 2 minutes plug in the modem and router. Let them come back online completely. Then plug in your console and start it up. Let me know if that helps or not. Thanks!
Community ManagerYou don't happen to have a storage expansion card, do you? If so, try installing the game there instead.
Is this only happening in EASHL games? If so, have you noticed if it occurs in both home and away games? If it's in home games only, there could be an arena or mascot customization causing this.

It's a shot in the dark, but try deleting the personal saved data for NHL 23.
There is the risk of losing offline saves and changes to settings you've made. Normally, those download from the cloud, but I can't guarantee this. Let me know what happens.
Community ManagerThat sounds possibly like an overheating issue. Is your console in a well-ventilated location with the vents free of any debris?
Community ManagerAlso, can you tell me which modes, screens or games you entered between booting up and crashing? Do you use Quick Resume?
Community ManagerWhen it crashes from the lobby, is the whole game closing down and sending you back to the Xbox dashboard?
Also, we've seen issues with using custom gamerpics. If you happen to have one, switch to a default image instead.

Looks like im not the only one after all, same thing happening to me for NHL 24.
Hi! As I get to the play game menu and prepare to pick my team on nhl 23 I am thrown to my dashboard home screen. I have tried restarting the console and a hard restart. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the nhl 23 game in the store app from my Xbox one. I don't know what else to try . Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Community ManagerWhich mode are you trying to create your team in and when exactly is the crash happening? If it's in HUT and this is occurring when naming your team, pick a different name or add additional characters so it's more unique.
Hi thank you for the quick reply. So , I am playing in " Season Mode" and am two games in. I tried playing yesterday as I am on the play game menu and I click "Play Game" from there it goes to my dashboard instead of selecting my team. So , the game does load up but as I get to the menu to select my team it kicks me out to the dashboard home screen of my Xbox one.
Community ManagerIt's possible your save is corrupt since this is happening after you load in to your Season Mode save. You could try clearing the personal saved data. That might help, but I'm not too optimistic. Unfortunately, when it comes to corrupt saves, usually, the only thing you can do is start over. Also, make sure you always save and quit. Don't just switch to another app or shut down your console. That can corrupt a save.
