NHL 22 Online Fail w/ Solution from @EA_Aljo: Hotspot for first connect
I started with NHL 18, and have purchased ever year up to 22. Always bought the premium edition (X-Factor in the 22 case). So I have $500 invested in this game.
All on same Xbox One X.
I have both NHL 21 and 22 installed.
NHL 21 works fine for everything. NHL 22 starts, but only plays local mode. No HUT, no Online.
Same game tag, same EA ID.
I contacted support, they just had me check my network, reboot, and re-install NHL 22.
Still same result, NHL 22 fails to connect online. EA support now says they have no idea, just post in the forum for help.
It's been 2 weeks now, so posting here, as a last ditch effort before I ask for my $100 back for a game that doesn't work for me.
I see no gamer tag on the EA web site, but NHL21 is working fine.
I attached screen shots from NHL21 and NHL22, and the NHL22 with my gamer tag blurred out.
It should still use the same Xbox Live subscription as far as I know. Regardless, if you're getting the same error, it's not account-related. Are you able to connect if you switch to a mobile hotspot?
