@flexibleFLIMINGO That's a really good question. Well, Halloween is a favorite so when the Spooky Squash came out it was joy! On the other hand, in The Yeti King all their dancing was pretty good too.
I like Time Park, so the Brothers Gnonus will always be up there was no nonsense with the brothers either.
Thanks for replying! I've been talking to another EA Community Manager in EA's Discord server regarding this, I hope getting this changed will be quick and easy. 🙂
- Prindles373 years agoSeasoned Rookie@imaPetalhead That would be amazing if they changed the mystery portal, you and shepherd will be legends in the gw2 community!
- stukapooka3 years agoLegend
Regardless of how all this turns out I gotta say i'm happy to see a lot of engagement in the the community right now as I thought these forums dried up a whole after bfn got canned.
- 3 years ago@imaPetalhead did the EA manager that you're talking to say they're going to change it? Cause I'll be thrilled if they are.
The current mystery portal rotation is trash, they need to bring back the good ones like boss hunt. - stukapooka3 years agoLegend@hellishgother He said that he sent a message to the higher ups but we don't no when or if they'll respond.
Yeah achievements or not the current rotation is painfully boring and only capture the taco stands out. - 3 years ago@stukapooka every day I'm refreshing the page to see if EA_Shepard has an update
- stukapooka3 years agoLegend@ForeverKnights Same. Constantly looking for literally anything from one of the community managers.
@VendetedFox agreed. I was just putting out an idea. But i think that they should just bring it back. I really miss playing boss hunt with my brothers and dad.
@flexibleFLIMINGO never played the yeti king boss hunt . The spooky squash hunt was bery fun and it was similar to the yeti king hunt.
- stukapooka3 years agoLegend@DeathBugg Yeti king is even more cracked than spooky squash as he has an instakill phase like sasquatch and your'e constantly being frozen by minions or the king as he runs around the map at the speed of sound.
- 3 years ago@stukapooka that's what makes it so fun, its a battle of survival, a fight for the fittest, and its extremely satisfying when yeti king is finally defeated
- 3 years ago
@DeathBuggI'm crying tears of joy at thought of boss hunt returning. I bonded so much with my siblings while trying to defeat them.
- 3 years ago@DeathBugg Yeti King was the Best and hardest boss hunt. I remember when I defeated him on normal mode, and it was SOOOOOOOO fulfilling!
- stukapooka3 years agoLegend
@VendetedFoxExactly! Boss hunt as a whole imo feels like an expansion of ops that was looking to really to test the metal of the player base a its so quick and agressive yet winning the day as a team was a feeling unmatched by anything else in game. Top tier pve in the series. Bfn tried to replicate it but it just felt hollow to me since it was so easy.
I would probably bounce up and down the walls if this stuff succeeds and the rotation gets changed. I would definetly make it a priority to help the newbies on day 1 that are in for a massive difficulty spike that they havent seen yet. - stukapooka3 years agoLegend@flexibleFLIMINGO So many failed CRRRAAAZY runs. I MUST HAVE REVENGE POPCAP!!!

They've said they sent information to the team, and that's all I've heard from them specifically. I've been excitedly waiting for any new info regarding this from them.

There is no doubt that the new Community Manager EA_Shepard through his own unstinted enthusiasm for the game has given hope to the community.
I personally, however, don't believe there is much hope for a GW2 renaissance given that one of the tasks of a Community Manager being to inform the GW team of the Community's thoughts (put forward through the past couple of years both forcefully and faithfully by stukapooka and Iron_Guard8 in particular) would undoubtedly have been done by all Community Managers prior to EA_Shepard 's appointment.
The reason nothing has happened is of course that EA have no intention of reopening and therefore reassigning a team (and therefore production capacity) to maintain and improve upon a dated game (being nearly 8 years old) that on the PC side of the equation is shot through with hacking and in general requires of a more stable and rigid game architecture.
I really and sincerely do hope that the efforts of EA_Shepard will bear fruit, but I just can't see it happening......sorry for being such a pessimist.
- stukapooka3 years agoLegend@imaPetalhead Yeah but who knows what will come of it. If anything. I know these things take time but gosh darn it my hope wants to linger and get a response soon even if the response turns out to be: "LEAVE US ALONE" or "don't care lmao".

@stukapooka one thing i like about this fourm is it is active because i keep refreshing the page and seeing new posts to give xp to
- stukapooka3 years agoLegend@ManicMossie Nah it's alright. We've been let down a lot as a community as of late so it's only natural.
I wish I knew what's going down with the state of the series but i pray simply reactivating some code for a better portal can be possible because then i'm fine with being left in silence again. A small, small, win is what the series *desperately* needs right now. - stukapooka3 years agoLegend
@DeathBuggI remember only a few like @TheSprinter85 and ironguard8 being left on the forums when pvz3 got sundowned or whatever. I just came back a few days ago and chimed in on this post out of some pvz nostalgia only to see it blossom into a movement for the community. Crazy aint it?
@stukapooka agreed
@ManicMossie you are alright man. We cant really expect them to do this, but at least they have finally started considering bringing back boss hunt and other modes.
- stukapooka3 years agoLegend@DeathBugg Yeah its more than what we've gotten in the past few years as sad and little as that is.
Absolutely stukapooka I simply don't understand the difficulty in reassigning eg. Boss Hunts to the portal when they have automated the Town Hall game modes.
I can only guess that the Devs have wanted to tone down the attractiveness of GW2 when, at the time, introducing BfN. Ultimately, with focus now entirely on BfN they have left GW2 to its own devices, and we are now left with a shell of a game.
- stukapooka3 years agoLegend@ManicMossie Yeah the portal rotation we got is just downright terrible we couldn't even get modes like lunchtime in the lab instead of randos rapid whatever electric boogaloo. Just something kind of unique and interesting ya know? Still impressed capture the taco made it on and guess what? It's still the most loved mode out of the rotation we have now!
It's just baffling since all the unique modes like boss hunt, soil survivors, and so on were beloved by the community yet they used all the remaining dev power to create one of the worst possible rotations they could.
If the bfn theory is true than that's the ultimate irony since gw2 for all it's flaws is still standing and the fans still want it to be taken care of like it deserves while bfn quickly faded from all but its diehard followers. Even ps3 gw1 had more players than bfn at it's peak.
Cruel irony since bfn had its popular team vanquish battle arena/just battle arena mode stay in rotation after the game got canned yet we couldn't get anything besides ctt. - 3 years ago@stukapooka I hope @EA_Shepard has good news for us soon.
I can't stand the current mystery portal rotation. - stukapooka3 years agoLegend
@ForeverKnightsWhile there are a lot of gripes I wish gw2 had fixed such as Atleast activating bots for solo play gw2 wall nut hills pe buffing some of the weaker Spawnables, I would drop all of them if they gave us a simple portal fix since that's one thing every gw2 player can unanimously agree on.
I know this stuff takes time if it will even happen but @EA_Shepard has really set the community ablaze with discussion lately and we all just can't contain any potential excitement we have, epsecially since I keep checking these forums with baited breath like a child even though i'm now 20.
