General feedback

Pros: flick it system, grinds, general feel, sound effects, controller vibration on different textures, slides/slappys and most of the map is good for street style. Cons: graphics/art design (not terrible but not great), customisation (feel like you should be able to customise board a lot more than what’s possible e.g deck size/shape, truck tightness, wheel hardness…), repetitive challenges (we need more variety gets boring quick, maybe even add death race back with multiplayer aspect), map for vertical and hill/speed style (needs some iconic speed sections) and finally the biggest one transition skating needs work ( pumping feels weird and you lose speed quick also transitioning into different ramps sometimes overshoots when it shouldn’t and feels bad - this is the most important con that needs fixing. Overall 4/5 stars for me i am really enjoying it and can’t wait for the development now that the devs are getting some income.

What i did find in the gameplay-settings in regards to pumping is that there is pumping support enabled by default. If you turn the score for that down to 0 you do get faster with your pumps.

Grinds are bad as well. The game's physics are so permissive that there is no body balance management. So we can let go of the controller during a long grind and never fall until a transition.
Among many other things: you also never fall when doing 360 flips over and over again while descending at full speed.

So the physics are therefore poor. This is probably because this essential element in a skateboarding game has been sacrificed in favour of the idea that farming rewards every day to collect socks and stickers will be enough to make you want to come back and play. And that's why the game is shallow, repetitive and boring.

Each to their own this was just my thoughts I think what you’re describing that you want it more of a skate sim which skate has never been it is more of an in between arcade and sim I get what you mean though maybe making it slightly more difficult to land some tricks would be rewarding. Agree with the free to play model not being ideal but that’s the world we live in now so I guess that’s how it goes just wish there was more variety and brand labels in the store to make me want to purchase items or have better unlockables in free boxes to make me want to grind levels more.

Skate2 is a pretty good simulation in my opinion. In fact, Skate was the sim answer to the completely arcade-style Tony Hawk. But THIS Skate is the first with shiny flying wheels to collect :p SO ... no, i'don't want an imaginary game.

But rewards are a real issue in this game.
I have nothing against F2P, it can be done well. Here, it's just lazy and not very well suited to the world of skateboarding. In single-player games, what was rewarding was taking a great photo for a magazine or perfectly executing your part in a sponsored video. Even when you succeeded in your challenges, you might want to try again to get a better photo/video.
But since the priority has been placed on loot boxes and the shop, we don't have any decent photo or video tools ... and we are content to tick a few boxes on a list of challenges so we're rewarded with socks.
