Skate. "Drop it like it's quick" mission

i was grinding on skate on my ps4 when the mission popped up 

i know where to toggle and use the ramps and all but my problem is the "place item" option is the same with the "back"  so every time i press X it doesnt "add the item" or "place the item" it just backs and doesnt go place the item and im stuck on the mission
