The game crashes at the same exact spot: dropping in at the giant ramp in the very beginning after acquiring my board. I cannot play the game or progress because I can't get past the "tutorial" part. It happened multiple times and the issue is replicable. Happens about half way down the ramp.
PS5, everything is up to date.
The beta ran better than this.
3 days and still no fix, genuinely have lost hope.
My game crashed when I first tried to drop in and when I reloaded the game I was stuck in the void. I either see all black, a dark blue, or a grid ceiling with the sky box under me. I can't move the character because he doesn't exist and I can't move my camera either. Closing the game and relaunching it doesn't change anything. I can pause the game but it doesn't help fix anything.
So I’ve been playing on ps5 actually just fine since the update and before because that’s the console I have at my girlfriends house and I’ve been staying there. Well now I came back home to my place and I have a family Xbox one S in my apt living room so all my roommates can play on it and my main series X Xbox that I myself only play on. My roommate told me he cannot play at all on the Xbox one since the update. So I tried it… even uninstalled and reinstalled. The game keeps kicking you out with an error or even just completely stuck on loading forever. I figured it’s the console so I downloaded onto my series X. I thought my ps5 works just fine, so my series X definitely should. I was able to log in and complete my daily challenges… THEN I decided to just mess around… the game began CRASHING… not once or twice… but every single time I got back in the game. With every crash happening quicker per attempt… I’ve come to the conclusion since the update, this game has been pretty much unplayable on Xbox devices and this needs a serious fix! My ps5 seems to be okay but I haven’t confirmed on ps4. But yea xbox version NEEDS a fix!!
I know this has been spoken about on here quite a lot, but so EA are aware, the game crashed twice within about 10 mins last night on me.
Playing on PS5. Just had to load the game again. A bit tedious.
NB – My tutorial is still stuck on ‘Trasher’ 1of 5 rubbish bags collected with no more to be found. Been that way for weeks now.
I cant login my game is crush again and again
The game is amazing but since the update 2 days ago the game crashes alot , challenges don't save missions don't save and when ever you try and teleport to a party member the game glitches are the party member is invisible . Please try and fix these bugs ad the game is really good to play with friends
I was playing skate on my PS5 slim at hartcore Plaza whenever my game randomly froze and then it said I was kicked. I was in the tutorial at the Hometown hero Hedgemont mission. Whenever I got back on my total score was frozen stuck at 27462 and any tricks that I do will not put my score up at all. It also happened two days ago and today but an hour or two ago and my score was fine on those times. I tried reloading back into the game and it did not do anything. I have posted two attachments showing what happened.
I am having the same issue. PS5, everything up to date, stable internet. I set up a character and I start the tutorial. Now I am stuck in a loop where the game loads into the tutorial, I climb the wall and grab the board, and then it crashes. I saw that a common solution to this was turning off Crossplay, but I did that and it didn't change anything. I tried this on a different console and the same thing happened, so it is not my console. Please fix this EA!
I was able to get the game working on PC. Here's my two cents in hopes of helping some of you guys.
Initially, I was met with a long, long loading screen, but not an infinite one. The game would sometimes crash, and other times it would load me in and let me play for up to a minute before crashing. My first attempt to fix the issue was disabling cross-play during one of the times it made it to the menu before crashing. Initially, that did nothing and the crash persisted.
Next, I verified the steam game files. 3 files were corrupted, and they redownloaded - didn't fix the crashing.
I then took someone else's advice from below, browsed my local disk to the game files, and renamed the 'Data' folder to 'Skate.Old' - still no fix.
Then I found a comment on the Steam forums, and a gentleman suggested doing the following:
Uninstall Skate from Steam. Re-download Skate through the EA app. Go back to Steam and add Skate as a non-steam game.
After doing that, the game now loads for me in a halfway-decent amount of time, and I was able to play multiple sessions that lasted a few hours each without issue. I was able to fast travel and complete challenges, and didn't experience any lag or stuttering that some others have mentioned experiencing.
I don't know if the fix is a combination of the EA re-download, or cross-play being turned off, or both. I don't want to re-break the game, so I'll leave that mystery for someone else to figure out.
Good luck!
