Why is the climbing so bad in "Skate." for how much they want you to do it?

The climbing system in this game is horrible for how much they want you to do it. The ups and downs are really clunky and same with side to side. The character does not like to grab onto things. I have to press (x) like 20 times to just to get up a wall that is my hight and same with the stuff that is shorter than me. Also the lock on thing for when you jump climb or even normal climbing is really dumb, that's where the majority of the problems are. Like it wants to lock onto somthing that isn't in the direction that I want to go, or I do go in that direction but grab onto nothing and just slam into the wall, or the character just doesn't do a single thing even though in 1 foot next to it even if im jump climbing or just notmal climbing. The game is fun but the parkor is just unbearable and not fun!!!!!
