Hello,My son can NOT play the Battlefront II multiplayer on his Xbox Live account. Is there a fix in the works to allow child's accounts to play with parents permission? All the Xbox live settings are set up correctly to have him play, this seems to be an EA issue. One of the reasons I purchased the game is because I knew my son was a Starwars fan (it is a Disney franchise after all) and would want to play the game. I have never had this problem with any other game franchise we have tried to play on his account. This is a Disney franchise and it seems a bit ridiculous to think EA has locked anyone under a Childs account from playing a great portion of this Starwars game.Thank you,Anthony

I went round and round with them last night for my son as well. their answer is that accounts that are showing age below 13 or 16 depending on who you talk to are unable to play this game online because of the law. they are unable to provide me the specific law that says this meanwhile he can play similar T rated games online like Destiny 2 & Overwatch without issueI have even seen some parents say that their kid can play Titanfall 2 online which is EA and an M Rated game to boot. then the advisor had the balls to tell me I shouldn't be buying him an Adult game. This is freaking Star Wars which is marketed almost more to kids then anything else. I am the parent not him

As for aging up his account there is no way possible for an Xbox live account. Only way is when they age out. If you try to change the age it creates an age mismatch error in the Xbox systems

Sorry for the delay in response, yes there is an error message advising something to the effect that you cannot access online functions. So basically EA is not letting child accounts play the online portion of a Disney franchise game (Starwars), even when parental permissions are given. The ratings argument does not make any sense because they're allowed to play aspects of the single player portion of the game and we have not had this issue with any other video game franchise we have tried to play on my son's account when pernatal permissions are given. I again would love to hear a response from EA or know if Disney is aware that EA is blocking functions of their Starwars game from Child accounts.

To answer your question, yes Xbox Live and the other settings (including parental permissions) are all set up correctly to play the game. This undoubtedly seems to be an EA issue. If this is the case for all EA games then why are we able to play the single player mode of battlefront II and the EA Titanfall franchise on the same account we are attempting to use to play Battlefront II multiplayer on and are being blocked? Also when I experimented and changed the age of the account in question above the age restriction, why does it still not allow the account to play the multiplayer portion? Via Xbox Live I am able to restrict certain aspects of the account in question to include chat, so this seems odd to lock the account out from playing multiplayer. Also if EA blocks any account marked child, is Disney aware of this practice on their franchise? I was going on vacation and paid $80 for this game to play it before I left (access to the game at the time was an extra $20 bucks for me) and I've seen a report that the single player campaign is only about 4 hours. I think we all can agree that the multiplayer portion of the game is a huge aspect of the game. I am confused and frustrated that EA would block child accounts from playing this huge portion of the Disney franchise Star Wars game. As for EA sighting some age restriction law to the above listed parents, that just does not make sense seeing how the child account my son uses can play the single player portion of Battlefront II and all the other non EA video games we have attempted to play do not have these kind of restrictions which are being implemented in battlefront II. We are having the same issues. I bought this game for my son. His account is set up to have unlimited Xbox access, but this game will not let him play online. Please fix this. My son saved his own money to buy a new Xbox 1 X and was so excited that he was able buy it the week it was released. Not being able to play this game online is ruining this for him. I reserved a copy of the game in September and he has been looking forward to getting to play it ever since. I have checked and rechecked all our settings with Microsoft and Xbox. This IS an EA problem! Please at least acknowledge this and start working on a fix.

Apparently we are not the only ones. My friend is also having the same issue with his daughter's account and I observed other parents writing in online about having issues with the Battlefront Franchise not allowing children's accounts to play online, even when parental permissions are given. I wonder if Disney is aware of EA locking out kids from playing a great portion of this Starwars game. I urge other parents to write in to EA.

I tested out changing the account age on the account my son uses and it still wouldn't allow the account to play multiplayer. I observed a post online which advised EA blocks all accounts set up as child accounts from playing multiplayer on Battlefront, no matter what the age is on the account. Also if it was a ratings issue then why can a child account play the campaign but not multiplayer and why is EA the only one that blocks child accounts even when parents allow the account permission to play? To reiterate my previous post, I wonder if Disney is aware that EA is blocking kids accounts from playing a great portion of this Starwars game. I would love a comment on this from EA.

This does seem strange that I can't allow this game and multiplayer as I do for plants vs zombies 2. Now I will likely have to let my son use my account which grants all sorts of other capabilities. Very annoying.

EA told me it was the law yet could not give me the specific law. I have been firing off emails to about anyone I can think of

EA indeed seems to block child accounts (anybody under a certain age as set on the EA account and/or Xbox/Playstation account) from online functions.
I don't think it's meant to block Star Wars though but the online interaction he/she can have with the world (cyberbullying, peer pressue, cursing, etc.) and the function to purchase stuff in the game with the parents creditcard as example (last thing you want). I don't think underage accounts can go online with the Sims either for example (could be wrong).

That would be why i have the parental settings set so no purchases can be made without my password. Again my choice not Era's

As for cyberbullying harassment etc. We do private parties with friends only yet another way Microsoft allows me the parent to parent my kid
