Yelling how evil it is every new toon kit has not made an impact to the design (WAI) as you mention. So im engaging in dialogue with new ideas beyond how it must stop, is greedy, and is broken beyond disaster.
Call it a new first step? =) like i said talking is not promises but without that, your right nothing will change - templarphoenix8 years agoSeasoned AceAlright no Rose or Holdo, then what?
So you want it just like DSTB, asking 12 R2, 13 Lobot and 10 Hoda next time? "Vampire_X;c-1446981" wrote:

You personally are engaging in dialogue? With the devs or with the community? My reaction I guess is to just give up after a while. There are some issues that people have been complaining about for a year+ and I just don’t see the point. It’s not like they don’t know people hate getting challenge gear from raids and having to refresh to hit the max arena rank jump and whatnot. I figure if they had any intention of changing it they would have and having a new thread about it every single day is just pointless. This issue, with each new character people somehow act like it’s a surprise. I don’t feel like there’s anything new to say about it at this point."kevsmart;c-1446131" wrote:
but entirely F2P guilds shouldn't expect to get 45* either.
This is a game that is supposed to be fun.
Where is the logic in this? F2p should be at a disadvantage against other players, yes. But making it so f2p can never 45* a TB is not good design. At all. I mean, maybe I would be ok with this if it wasn’t 300+ dollars every month just to keep up. But yea. Entirely f2p guilds should absolutely have an opportunity to build towards max completion of TB. Granted, it will take them longer, which is kind of the concept of the “accelerated experience” that EA so generously coined- I'm probably in the minority here, but I think EA actually has taken our feedback into consideration. I'm going to play devil's advocate for a moment knowing full well I'm going to be torched.
I've noticed that TB's game design is intended to allow everyone to reach a reasonable number of stars fairly easily, and then at phase 5 ratchet up the difficulty to separate guilds with high GP / team efforts, while still attempting to make these later phases relatively enjoyable for everyone. Why do I think this?
- the first time you encountered Rose and Holdo was at 5*... not at 4*... you probably had a reasonable time filling a lot of platoons and are just NOW failing to fill more than 2
- which brings me to my next point; I've noticed they took feedback and kept at least 2 platoons void of what we consider "pay to play" toons. This means, given an aggressive farming strategy, guilds with a lot of players and somewhat mature rosters should be able to achieve level 1 in platoons (this is an improvement over previous iterations of TB)
- You don't need to fill all platoons to get 45*, free to play can still achieve this. It's GP dependent, not character dependent.
- this actually makes these later stages more challenging for EVERYONE because even my guild (115 GP) won't have all the necessary toons to complete every platoon, which means we strategize on "how many do we actually fill" or "do we fill additional platoons to get the bonus or do we try to clear all of the battles at 5/6 and 6/6"
I think the community frustration probably stems from being able to easily fill platoons in the first 4 phases and then WHAM hit a platoon wall.
It's tough to figure out a sensible solution to this gripe by the community because my impression is that they are trying to make the gameplay more challenging by preventing almost all guilds from completing all platoons (without paying a pretty penny). I don't fault them for this strategy because they're telling the community if you want the ultimate advantage, it's going to cost, otherwise everyone participates on a level playing field.
I don't know that there's a simple answer to this, but maybe game designers should consider delaying newly released characters 1 full TB cycle before introduction to platoons. Given the release cadence, I suspect it would not materially alter how many players actually collect those characters because they're still not farmable in-game. On the flip side of that, would it actually change player resentment since they're still not non-datacard farmable? "BTBAMthony;c-1447012" wrote:

Just to be clear - with multiple (often 8-12) of the newest p2p toons required in phase 5 & 6 platoons, even many guppy/dolphin guilds can't.
The problem with SWGOH right now is simple - the game pacing is faster than the average dolphin spends. When you keep pouring money into the game, only to keep falling further behind, it gets pretty easy to give up all together.
The issue isn't that the "finish line" is moving. It's that EA is moving at ever-increasing speed.- Hearing from people who have been in charge of guilds, I have been told the same thing regarding platoons. People were actually enthusiastic about farming characters like Lobot, CUP, Eeth Koth, etc just for the sake of filling platoons. Now that the moment a new character hits the streets, they're required in platoons has made all those efforts fall by the wayside.
People are not only disinterested in trying to shell out the cash required to stay relevant in TB, they're also just throwing their hands up on previous efforts as well. I'm sure it was intended to keep everyone on the razor's edge as things moved along, but it's pushing a lot of people over the edge into "Eh, another TB? Who cares?" territory.
For most F2P or more casual guilds, TB has either become a "We'll get there someday!" or "We'll never get there, who cares?" scenario. The sad part is, the latter group is probably the better way to be, because you will NEVER as a F2P guild or casual guild have a 5/6/7* character if it was just released in a marquee a couple days ago. That is not a goal you will ever meet without spending.
I agree with the proposition to hold off at least until the latest characters are available in chromiums. Even then, most F2P/Casual guilds won't have the latest characters, but it may at least give them a slight window where the previous batch of new characters were made farmable, and they could have a shot at filling all platoons before new characters come in to guarantee failure for a few weeks. - scuba758 years agoLegend

Not ignored at all! One of the things about the forum community is facilitating conversations and the fact a development coder is not responding is not an indication of intrest, when you see mods pushing topics forwards it should be a clear indication of that.
In the thought stage (idea of change) level, what could they say other than “were looking at it” which tends to be seen as negative by most in the community.
If it gets chnaged its an announcement, if its broken its moved to bugs, when wai in current form it was spoken about by development and moved here or sticked on the front. Where we are now is in listening, engaging, and flushing out ideas.
We can continue to yell at the process and call people names and insult ea and the team, or we can discuss ths issues we also agree many topics have merit to further drive forward here. That doesnt mean it WILL change but great ideas and comprise never start out complete and are more often born out of understanding and talking.
We are trying to do new things this year too and engagement at the ground level is something we want and we hope to bring some with us especially those who post alot because maybe it can start feeling less like yelling at the sky and more like healthy debate!
@Vampire_X good luck with all that. Honestly with the lack of engagement and the circles that I personally feel EA/CG is pushing the player base into (most recent one with the marquee shards) I feel I am about to say you win EA/CG and be done with the forums and noanswers.ea.
Seems hardly anything gets done, unless it affects a character that is still in purchase phase (holdo zeta got fixed real quick while many other bugs just linger on and on), and like most if my or others posts here or to answers.ea is wasted breath (see Einstein) . It is all perception I know but that is what customer service is about. - It's about sense of ride and complete the platoon is great. U can ride all the way u want to complete 6/6 CM

@Vampire_X nobody is crying evil. All we are doing is asking for actual responses to our feedback. Like I said earlier, mods responding and engaging is refreshing. But the types of response from the devs we want is an actual response outside of “recruit people that have these toons.” We want some sort of comprise. I actually saw this in a post just a little bit ago.
It doesn't help to progress a dialog by denying the forums typically view CG and EA as the 'evil empire'. Vx is reaching out, politely, and your response is disingenuous as you try to invalidate her point of view. The forums ARE toxic towards CG / EA. A blind person reading these posts can see that. Come on man!
