Accidentally bought Daily 3200 pack

Hi All

As the title says, I went to open a Bronzium pack to complete the daily task but without realising I accidentally bought the daily 3200 crystal pack 😩...I wouldn't have mind if the deal had useful materials, but the daily deal today was absolutely garbage and a total waste of 3200 crystals.

Has anyone done this before (or similar) and had any success having crystals reimbursed?

It's a lot of crystals to go wasted and I'm so annoyed with myself 😂.

  • It seems there's not a chance in the world...

    I've now witnessed for myself how bad the EA help in-game is. I'm sure it'll be a totally different experience if you couldn't buy something I bet😩.

    Your experience will also be terrible. Support was good 5-6 years ago. They could solve problems or even send compensation for some bugs like freeze in GAC. Now they can't do anything but send you some nonsense text.

  • This has happened to me twice in the last two weeks using the PC client. I go to click the free bronzium and I get hit with this exploitative UI that has me purchase the 3200 crystal pack. 6400 crystals wasted on shard currency. After the first one i chalked it up to my own error and disappointedly purchased more crystals but then it happened again and now I'm furious.  EA Help did nothing. We need a UI update here so that these packs aren't anywhere near the free button. The habit of clicking the bronzium pack and the purchase of things with crystals needs to have a different level of friction involved.

    I got half my crystals back when the game freaked out and bought a useless ship pack I didn't click on and didn't even need since I already had the ship. I was told by EA support (in-game) they can refund half the crystals which I guess is better than nothing. However it took two weeks and 3 different support people to get this fulfilled. I had to remind them every few days. Up to you if you think it is worth the effort.

  • If this is your first time asking for a crystal refund for an accidental purchase you can get your crystals back - open a ticket through the in-game help and expect about one reply every 24-48 hours - it took me a week to get it resolved last time.

    Just a quick update on this. 

    EA support agreed to refund half the amount of crystals spent, as hibnit32 similar experience, it had taken 3-4 weeks to sort it, as it was passed (with my experience) between 4-5 different agents. In the end, I think a senior agent, took ownership of the ticket and dealt with the refund promptly to get the ticket closed. 

    With my experience, I think it really depends on who you get. I had an agent who agreed to refund, and then another agent was assigned to the ticket, requesting for the same information. My response was to the point, I provided the info (again) and made it clear it's already been given and I asked to just refund the amount, as it was already agreed by the previous agent. Then, another agent was assigned, they apologised for the inconvenience, refunded the amount and closed the ticket.

    So, if anyone does go through this, just be patient haha

    I was able to get a full refund - but I think it depends on the support person that ends up picking up the ticket - which itself points to a systemic issue with EA support on the whole - but I don't think that's any big surprise to anyone that's ever dealt with them before.
