Asajj Ventress rework...
Ventress is another one of those characters that are relatively strong/intimidating in lore, but don’t rise to the occasion in-game. It can be fun using her at times, but her current kit doesn’t allow for her to be put to use in arena without becoming a HUGE target. So I thought of some changes:
Gear level 3:
Swap out: Mk 3 Arakyd Droid Caller
Swap in: Mk 3 A/KT Stun Gun
While marginal in nature, this change would give her a small speed increase as well as a more proportional boost in power. Nothing major tho.
Also, I personally think her basic and leader abilities are fine the way they are.
Strike Fear (3 turn cooldown)
“Dispel all positive status effects from all enemies and Asajj recovers 40% of her Max Health. For each effect dispelled this way, Asajj recovers an additional 9% Max Health.” (removed turn meter reduction chance)
Omega: In addition, Asajj has a 40% chance to grant all allies Critical Chance Up for 1 turn, and a 75% chance to grant Nightsister allies Speed Up for 2 turns.
The main reason for this change is to compensate for the AI’s unfortunate inability to discern when it is appropriate to use her mass dispel ability (such as when an opponent only has Defense Up buff and/or toons like Phasma or QGJ have yet to apply their respective team buff abilities). Secondary reason, to help strengthen Nightsisters’ viability (and help offset that craaazy low speed).
As it sits right now, this ability upgraded to level 6 grants a 50% chance to remove 10% TM on Dispel, level 7 grants +5% Heal, and at level 8 (omega), +3% Bonus Heal. The current level 6 ability could be replaced with that of the current omega, making room for this proposed fix. At least it would kinda-almost-sorta live up to its name now :D
Endless Wrath (4 turn cooldown)
“Deal Special damage to all enemies and refresh all cooldowns on a finishing blow.”
My only suggestion here is that the omega upgrade be buffed from +15% damage to +20% damage. I say this because for some odd reason I feel her AoE is still somewhat lackluster. Maybe it’s just me tho.
Rampage (unique)
“Whenever any ally or enemy is defeated, Asajj Ventress gains Offense Up and Critical Chance Up for one action, with a 25% chance to also gain 35% turn meter. In addition, when Asajj Ventress is defeated, Nightsister allies gain Potency Up for the rest of the encounter and gain 10% turn meter.”
Again, making an attempt to render Nightsisters teams stronger little by little. I was thinking the bolded portion could serve as the new lvl 6 ability upgrade (currently +2.5% TM gain), with the lvl 5 ability increasing from +2.5% TM gain, to 5% (to make up the difference).
The idea here is that the Potency Up buff cannot be dispelled. So, instead of displaying the buff icon floating over top the toons, simply have the words “POTENCY UP” in green pop up as they attack; similar to how the word “STUN” displays in red when a toon gets stunned.
I’d greatly appreciate some feedback on this! Making fair adjustments can be somewhat of a challenge lol. I just reeaaally wanna be able to use Ventress in arena more often without having my rank suffer for it!
