- Morgoth_swgohSeasoned NewcomerThey do not notify of these events returning for the first few instances, never have.
I would expect that the current 900 Bos are less than what CG hoped for and that they hope the completely broken DC announcement for Bo will get more people whaling to get her this time.
I would also expect next return to be at the earliest in another 3 months, most likely going to be a bit longer so only those whaling to get her will enjoy her DC. - deathbringer59Rising NewcomerYa her coming back early + broken DC still won't make me spend on her. I'm ready for JKCK, I need alot more relic on my other teams. Bo can wait.
No it's probally not a bug. I think it's what Morgoth said. They didn't get much from people spending on it and now they're hoping for that. - ccmooseNew NoviceSurely, CG will release some packs for that.
- MasterSeedyRising VeteranYeah, I'm annoyed that they've now had 2 events without her requirements farmable. I've gotten used to one event before everything is farmable. 2 seems extreme.
If the next event isn't for 5 months (so on schedule for a 3rd event, ignoring that 2nd came early) I'll be very disappointed. I was even willing to spend a bunch of crystals on this, but not this many. It would take 24k crystals to get 1 character that just hit farmable on a hard node 2 days ago + another character not yet farmable up to 7*. And the heck of it is that I've got that many crystals, but not enough to do this kind of thing twice. And we've already hard warning that we need The Comeuppance at 7 stars for GCs, which is going to take a large drop of crystals in a short time period.
Sure, I'll miss out on using her DC, but DCs come and go, and there's no way I would get back enough of a return to be worth a 24k crystal investment. Anything I miss out on will be able to be purchased for less.
Still, it's all pretty disappointing, because another month from now with maybe a Cantina node for Kelleran and it would have been 12k for her. Still a steep price, but more justifiable. I probably would have gone for it at a 12k cost. This is too soon, and I wonder which players it will actually attract? The whales got her the first time round. With only 2 days of farming on the 2nd toon, there's no significant difference in price for her from Event1. If people didn't like the cost then, they won't like it now.
Good luck, CG. You could have gotten buy in from me, but you didn't. We'll see if anyone else in my situation feels like the DC makes enough of a difference to purchase her now when nothing else has changed. - GRANDOLAKEVSeasoned TravelerIt's real
- The DC isn't broken, unless it's not WAI
- thedrjojoSeasoned NewcomerWhen the event went into game, there were 2400 ig12 at 7* and 3200 beq, and presumably 900 of them already had bo from the first run. Assuming some people whaling, this will be 3000, maybe 4000 bo's after this event.
- Disruptor92Seasoned RookieThey are kinda smart. They release a deflection datacron set, which nerfs a very common LV counter in Fennec BHs. "Coincidentally", Bo Katan's datacron is just tailormade to counter LV. So they are nerfing a cheap counter, and selling us the solution. There are other counters to LV of course, but in terms of non-GL counters the number is very close to zero. They are hoping to make people go like: "Oh crаp, my only cheap LV counter is useless now, I need to get a replacement asap!"
I'm not sure how many players will actually bite and whale on her this time around, but I think with Fennec nerfed, and Bo being super strong with her new DC, there's a chance that a good chunk of people will be attracted to the purchase. Especially those that were on the fence the first time Bo's event was live and decided not to whale on her back then. - MasterSeedyRising Veteran

Yes, but how many is that? They would seem to be people in my situation in game, unless they're buying shards for cash. And if you're buying shards for cash, I don't know why you would do that this time but not last time. I mean, you make the case about LV counters, but NewBo is not a "cheap" counter at this point. Someday, sure. She's a non GL that requires only 4 toons at r7 to get her, which is a heck of a lot more than you need for, say, Palp, but a lot less than you need for LV.
But in this context where all the LV toons are accelerated and Bo requires purchasing shards, I wouldn't call her a "cheap" counter yet.
I guess it's hard for me to get into the mindset of someone who buys shards for cash since I don't do that, but it just seems like if you were going to spend cash on shards, you already had the opportunity to do that and DCs don't change that.
Again, I'm kind of on the fence with New Bo. If it cost 12k to finish her requirements I would probably do it. At 8k I would DEFINITELY do it. At 24k, I won't. But that implies that somewhere in between 12 and 24 there's a point where the decision would be really difficult for me and I might just drop the crystals. I don't know where that point is, probably not exactly in the middle, but maybe around 16k? I don't know what I would do if the costs came down that much.
So, sure, there will be some people who will buy shards to go for New Bo now. But how many? I just see the number as being pretty small.
So if there were 2400 IG+G in the game already, we'll just have to see how many more exist by the end of next week. That will probably tell us how many people were really driven by this opportunity to spend. - Disruptor92Seasoned Rookie

I'm assuming that some people (who generally aren't opposed to buying shards for cash, but don't do it every single time) just didn't see enough value in Bo to whale on her the first time she was around. Now with Fennec nerfed and Bo supercharged by the new DC, they might see a lot more value in her than they did when she was first released. You are right that it's certainly not a cheap counter per se, considering that one of Bo's requirements is not even farmable, but having a safe non-GL counter to LV may be enticing enough for some people to bite and whale on her.
