Can someone explain to me the basis for having revan released

You don't need history but foresight

1. February is the month of Sith (CG stated themselves and tried to make February a huge deal). Darth Nihilus was released on February (KOTOR II), Darth Sion was released in February (KOTOR II). Sith Raid, and therefore Traya (KOTOR II raid + toon) was released in February. The major sith lords from the KOTOR era that are noteworthy that aren't in game is Darth Malak and Darth Revan
2. They bombarded us with 4 KOTOR toons in one month and the panic farm coincides with the same timeframe as Jedi Knight Revan's time line
3. The Jedi Revan trailer teased two qualities of Revan that were not included in the kit (Conqueror, Villain)
4. Clone Wars month was overshadowed with Marquee full of KOTOR toons that should line up to Feb release
5. They can always make a new set of rules (requiring one journey character to get another). They aren't limited to their past decisions. The same people said there wouldn't be a Revan via Journey because Journey toons require a base character and Revan would be legendary (and they were massively wrong)
6. If not Revan, The next Rey (Episode 9) might require Jedi Training Rey. which requires 5 toons. Requirements can change on a whim at CG's mercy, Precedence or history doesn't mean much
7. Its super obvious Revan is coming and you can even look at the marquee release schedule:

T3, Mission, Zaalbar were the last batch of KOTOR toons and were immediately farmable as soon as the earliest marquee schedule allowed it

While the Sith Bomber and Anakin's ship is not farmable yet and should be the same time when Carth and Juhani will be going to shipments (aka Sith Bomber doesn't have a panic farm) but they didn't wait a single day to put Darkside Bastilla or Canderous to shipments

When it comes to the release schedule and KOTOR toons they are very punctual because they want to release a huge toon that requires them as soon as possible without giving players too much time to farm them

EDIT: There is no prior history of this but that doesn't mean they cannot make new history for this kind of release

For example Jedi Luke's speculation is that he will be the biggest toon in the game and would require the largest set of characters such as R2, Chewbacca, C3PO which are all legendary characters (its speculation but its possible CG does this)

5,6,7 were all pure speculation , how do you try to prove baseless speculation with more baseless speculation. They could do something they’ve never done before , because they may do it another time in the future (Rey as you say ) ? What kind of proof is that.
I won’t disagree about feb being sith month , fail to see where that relates to having the already released revan indicating anything. Point 2,3,4 make little argument as well. Clone wars was overshadowed ? Did you read this forum that month ? It was constantly speculated and talked about.
It’s easy to see connections on something if you really wanted it.

Obviously I don't have 100% proof that Revan is coming and nobody does unless CG outright admits it but the signs are there via speculation. Its a pattern they are repeating. You can choose to believe Revan is coming or ignore it. Points 5,6,7 were the exact reasoning used to proof that Jedi Knight Revan will be arriving to the game before he was announced, and many chose to ignore it (Refusal to believe new conditions can be made up even if it wasn't done so in the past, Refusal to believe requirements can change, the strict adherence to release Candace)

I think he's coming. Up to you to interpret it however you want but these are some of the talking points that are leading people to believe Revan is coming, which was your original question.

I'm not going to go back and forth to convince you. You can wait until CG announces him 1 week prior for an official confirmation because anything else other than an official confirmation is basically seeing connections we want to see

People say Jedi Revan is proof that Darth Revan is confirmed because literally everything since Darth Nihilus came out has been proof that Darth Revan is confirmed.

People like to speculate around here, it's what we do.

Revan or particularly darth revan has been one of the most requested toons for years. From a business standpoint given the fact that they've released all the kotor characters, or atleast the important ones, it would make the most sense to try to cash in now as aposed to later. Of course it is a possibility that cg has no plans to introduce darth revan to the game and are done with kotor, but i doubt that. As @Ultra pointed out there are patterns to what cg does. People can decide if they want to go all in or not, but no-one really knows till cg makes an announcement.

Thats how some players stay ahead is trying to predict things and/or follow possible rumors

Exactly. You need some feeling for the things to come and prepare for this. For example, with JTR I had a pretty clear idea what was coming and farmed the vets early and hard, so I got her for free the first time. Revan also was pretty clear, but the release was so fast and my crystal stack not big enough / my farming not quite hard enough, so I had to pay some to get him.
For the next event I got a pretty good idea that all 5 scoundrel ships will be needed to get OT Falcon, so I farmed all of them as hard as reasonably possible (going up to 50 crystals per shard), at the risk of basically wasting crystals for hard node refreshes instead of farming Embo and Jango at the same time. This looks like it was the right idea, let's see if I manage to get them to 7 stars in time (XB is 34/100, IG-2000 12/100, three pilots are g12, the other three g11). The other consequence of my insights from the Revan event is that you need a crystal stash, so I'm pretty stingy since then and at 25k crystals now.
Getting back to the topic, my idea is that there WILL be a Kotor based Sith event in February, I'm just not sure what will be needed as there are "only" 3 Kotor toons waiting to become farmable (Juhani, Carth, Canderous) and it's getting a bit late even for panic farming standards as they aren't out yet. Which is good as I'd be forced to make a decision between scoundrel ships and Kotor toons if they are put on more hard nodes...

Because the whole deal with KOTOR was that Revan could be either light or dark, and the continued release of more OR characters, most of whom are also dark, seems to suggest that a dark side OR legendary is likely.

I'm not big on all the wild speculating people do 'round here, but this one seems pretty obvious.
