Wouldn’t it make more sense for the new character to be Darth Vader (Anakin) than General Skywalker? Darth Vader (Anakin) would have to get the 501st tag because that’s who he led into the Jedi Temple. He’d also have a dark side tag, which won’t affect Ahsoka or the Clones abilities...I don’t believe.
General Skywalker seems redundant...
From a planning standpoint you’d do the Darth Vader (Anakin) Legendary Encounter first. Then close out The Clone Wars with Master Kenobi Legendary event. Seems logical to me.

Yeah, he was a general and a Jedi knight and an Anakin and a Skywalker in both Clone Wars and Ep. 3. That's enough names and titles for two characters, so I see no reason why we shouldn't get one from each medium. Especially since they're so visually different.

No, he was given the rank of Captain in the Rebel Alliance. He's not an airline pilot.

No, he was given the rank of Captain in the Rebel Alliance. He's not an airline pilot.
He introduces himself as captain in ANH. "Han Solo, Captain of the Millennium Falcon". I don't think he officially joined the Alliance until ROTJ, maybe ESB at the very earliest. There is only around maybe a year between ESB and ROTJ. If he was a captain (army rank) in ESB and a general in ROTJ, that is a promotion of four ranks in a very short amount of time, most of which he would have been frozen in carbonite. Additionally, Lando was given the rank of General right off the bat as well.
So yes, the Captain in Captain Solo, is a "naval" rank for having your own ship and not a military rank.

This is a tricky subject. Several non-Alliance members refer to Han as Captain Solo (Jabba, Vader, Boba), so it might not be a military rank. But rebel soldiers on Hoth address him as Sir, which could be a sign that he outranks them. He also wears a comm badge that looks different from Leia's:
On the other hand, he doesn't sport any chest or collar insignia in earlier scenes. Since he planned on leaving until the news broke that Luke had gone missing, he could have already taken them off. And Leia doesn't wear proper insignia either. The only one on Hoth with a proper rank indicator that matches the pattern below is General Rieekan. So it's difficult to tell with certainty if he was assigned a rank prior to the battle of Endor.
