Yeah but how are they different? If one is only a chance to inflict crit, but crit damage does inflict damage, why not always go with damage. There has to be another aspect I'm missing. Hence the question. Like why give Leia damage and not chance or wedge or EP chance?
Plus like some skills depend solely on it being a crit.
When HRScout Crits on his special he gains 100% TM.
When Dengar gets Crits on his AOE it applies debuffs, but only to those that received a critical hit.
When Aayla crits, she stuns.
When Biggs crits on his basic he grants a random ally crit damage up for 2 turns.
When Cody calls assists his special cooldown is reduced for every critical hit done by the assisting characters.
There are more, these are just some I know off the top of my head.
Critical Damage is useful if you think you don't need to worry as much about crit chance. Like characters that have very high crit chance, or advantage, or if you have characters that boost crit chance in other ways like IG-86 has extremely high crit chance so you want tofocus on crit damage and Biggs' special assist attack grants +75% critical chance to all the assist attacks so those want to focus on crit damage as well. It's more about what your team composition is like that makes one or the other more important, but a good rule of thumb is have a crit damage set and crit chance set of mods for each attacker because you get both bonuses.
