Echo fix now makes cody useless + clone nerfs

Actually very very ticked off and this is gonna affect alot of future choices for me.

They won't be happy until Rey and RG are the only viable characters left.

It does make sense why its a bug because of the wording of his ability, but at the same time, it is a huge nerf to the cody/echo combo. They both need to be reworked or looked at.

The bug on echo was the only way echo was getting any play, and it is also thw only reason codys special will cooldown atva decent rate. It needs to be able to cooldown faster because his hp is so low he may not have a hance to take another turn.

On a side note, echo was my last actual purchase in the game when he was released, and i was thinking about buying cody shards to finish my clone team, but nevermind. Glad i havent spent a dime since.

So the supposed bug is that Echo should only be assisting when someone is attacking during their turn. The supposed issue here is that Cody's 212th Attack was calling assists on everyone, which meant that all the attacks don't count as a turn, therefor Echo should not be assisting on those.

So basically now full clone teams are hoping for full crits on a character already suffering from speed down to get the full benefit of the cooldown reduction, at which point you'd only get maybe 4 turns taken off the 8 cooldown ability, and that all the attacks are dealing almost half damage. Add in the bonus TM from all the Echo assists as well. So yeah, a really big nerf all around for clone teams.

B2 is the one other good character.

I have a fully maxed Echo and have tried to make him viable, he's just too squishy and too long of a cooldown on his EMP. Honestly, they should have left him as-is and removed the phrase "during their turn" from the Follow-up ability description.

If a strong character like Aayla can call another assist when she assists, I don't see why Echo can't function similarly.

That one simple change would destroy him.

Echo was released months ago, this bug was a feature all the way until now. Conversations I have had with devs said that at the time, people complained about how weak echo was and wanted him buffed. In response, they pointed out that their simulations (yes they do actuslly do some testing) of echo for balancing showed that he was competitive but balanced.

Now, if a character is balanced based on a bug or feature, irrelevant at this point, and then some time later that is removed with no mitigation, this has an impact on the balance equation.

Enter cody, who's assist triggers the entire team, prompting echo to assist at a % chance on each of them, these additional assists will trigger cooldown reduction on cody's if they crit. Note that the additional assists are not guaranteed at 60% chance and neither are they guaranteed to crit. Practically, full clone teams reduce the cooldown on codys assist to an average of 3-4 turns.

Now, it is also certain that cody balancing would have had echos feature/bug present during balance testing from CG. Look at the gif from codys official strategy post, u can see multiple assists happening out of turn.

Note that these were also from supermods during dev testing.

To drive the point home, fixes/nerfs are happening without consideration of the balance equation. We are purchasing something that is no longer balanced and we should demand that this is addressed.
