F2P are Raid commodities

First off I wanna say that I've been thinking this over in my head and am not sure if I'm missing something or over looking something so feedback is encouraged.

Secondly this post doesnt apply to guilds of all whales, at least not so much. Also the situation im going to speak about may vary depending on your situation. I.e. what raid tier you take part in regularly.

So my issue is in a guild where maybe the top 3-10 are whales or even dolphins that have full 50 membership and the guild is participating in mainly tier 6 raids is it in the interest of the majority to do tier 5 instead? Heres my reasoning. Also in this situation tier 5 can be done in 1 day and tier 6 in 3-4 days (i think thats pretty common).

If you can do 3 tier 5 raids in the time it takes to do 1 tier 6 raid its more beneficial for everyone. This is because by doing the tier 5's you get way more guild currency.
Most people will say yeah but your chances of getting good gear (furnace and droid caller pieces) are much lower at tier 5 especially for the lower ranks. But theres two counters to that.
1) by doing tier 5 three times at #30 you have a low chance at getting good gear.
By doing tier 6 one time at #30 you have a moderate chance at getting good gear.

2) even though your chances at good gear falls by doing tier 5, ALL 50 MEMBERS now get a lot of guild currency so everyone can progress at getting the gear (furnaces and droid callers) available in the guild shipments.

Personally i'd prefer 3 tries with low chances than 1 try with an ok chance. Also everyone in the guild is now working on the gear they want instead of just the top 3 and random people here and there in the rest of the ranks.

I chose the title because it seems whales can use f2p to do the opposite of what im proposing and if f2p realise this they might think twice before just going with the rest of the sheep.
