I just don't understand why, after such a long grind to gear up all of the characters for a GL, we then have to go through an event that is so difficult without modding our characters with perfect mods and then we can only beat the tier if we get extremely lucky with RNG.I've watched the videos on YouTube (as few as there are so far) on the Leia event and Vader just keeps destoying me. I've put my best mods (tried speed, tried health, tried potency) and nothing works. Vader just demolishes my team. This isn't fun.

I'm not close to GL Leia, but I fully endorse the idea that the requirements for GLs are the hurdle. We've put in the laborious work over months. The event should be a fun celebration of the SW story related to that character. There is no game balance reason why someone who completes all the pre-reqs shouldn't be allowed the character, so repeated failures don't serve any overarching purpose in game. They only make the game less fun for players. That said, and I don't know it will work, but I support what KDC said. Vader has always required landing debuffs on his enemies to be his most effective. If you can't get TenacityUP, then modding for Ten is an obvious thing to try. Maybe it will help you feel less tortured while waiting for CG to figure out how to prioritize fun.

I've now beaten Vader once in about 15 tries. Did it by putting an offense set on Leia (although it could have just been RNG). Tenacity was not helping as Vader was still landing his DOTs. If you get to the point where Han is cleansing every turn, you're pretty much done as Vader heals whenever Han cleanses and the DOTs just get reapplied.Still, GL events should basically be a story, not a chore. I'm not saying they should be super easy but the "hard" part about getting a GL should be farming the requirements. I have both Leia and Han at R7 which are higher than the requirements for the event. I'm not sure R5 would even cut it for this.

I guess so much for precedence.

Yep.

I once said that the unlock event shouldn't be trying to kill me, it should be setting off the fireworks, pouring me a drink, and fixing the sushi rice with robotic perfection.

Difficulty in unlock events is for when they're trying to create game balance and are worried that people might unlock without spending enough.

If they're worried that they aren't taxing us enough in resources, then make one of the r3 toons an r7 requirement, but don't mess up the unlock events.

The GL unlock events should always be celebrations that up the excitement for the character you're about to get.

Right - well said. And we still have to sink 700 hundred more kyros, signal data, bronze wiring, etc, etc, etc to then bring the GL up to fighting strength AFTER the unlock. Which is fine - cost of doing business and all - but every step of the process doesn't have to be painful. Let us enjoy some parts of the journey instead of just feeling relieved that it's over!

They only considered Tier 4 (the Jabba tier) to be excessive. Tier 2 is apparently just fine according to CG logic.

I remember Hynesy doing a run on the JML tiers WITHOUT MODS and still beat it. But, here we are again with CG not knowing how to balance something and letting RNG rule.

Yes, I watched that video. It helped some, but it doesn't take the RNG fest out of it.

The event isn't fun. The event should be fun. No one wants to spend money on things that aren't fun

I can't disagree with you there. After so much time and/or money to get there, the unlock event should be a high point - not a frustration point.
