What makes you think whales are upset at relics, CG most likely made a fortune on relics.
Its the so call FTP that have a problem with it, just look at the replies at your thread.
Relic upto 5 is nothing, level 5 is just 2 mark 3 holo projectors fully crafted, these are very easy.
Relic 6 and 7 is g12 and g12 plus salvage, this is harder for the little guilds that are not heroic sith able yet but if you have been in a heroic sith guild for awhile, you have plenty.
The cantina drops on signal data is very generous, which is surprising.
The real problem is, people expected to be able to relic their entire roster for no effort. Relics like everything else in this game will be a major grind if you want to outfit a lot of your toons.
