It happens twice a year every year, just like I said. Dunno why people keep acting like this is new.
Because people are dumb. I actually like CG stance on not following DST changes and sticking with UTC
DST actually adjusts the UTC conversion, from UTC-8 to UTC-7 for example.- scuba753 years agoLegend

Hmmm... CG uses epoch times stamps for everything, which is based off of UTC so they are not moving start times or end times. Should only move if your time changes locally. Maybe they messed up on the last one. I will pull the timestamps later and see.
But they do change times. Gac join launchs at 3pm local time for them and rounds run 2pm local time to 2pm local time. That was an hour earlier for everyone this round, which is why everyone complaining here had the problem. It will happen again when local time catches back up, which if that happens tomorrow, means you will have 1 less hour for defense set time and then attack will go back to your normal local times
And that did sound weird this time which is why I said I would pull the timestamps.
They don't normally change the times. It has always been thier stance that they run on utc time for the game stuff. - The problem is that they didn’t change the times, not that they did change it. UTC is merely an internationally accepted date/time format. If the servers are located anywhere in the US, their timestamps changed when US DST went into effect, but the run times didn’t.
And on the original topic I agree that an in game notice would be extremely helpful for international accounts. - scuba753 years agoLegendSeason 37 start and stop times based on epoch from the game
1
Start: Tuesday, February 28, 2023 10:00:00 PM UTC
End: Monday, March 6, 2023 10:00:00 PM UTC
2
Start: Tuesday, March 7, 2023 10:00:00 PM UTC
End: Monday, March 13, 2023 10:00:00 PM UTC
3
Start: Tuesday, March 14, 2023 9:00:00 PM UTC
Stop: Monday, March 20, 2023 9:00:00 PM UTC
So this entire round of 3 started an hour earlier (which is weird since they don't normally switch the times) but still had 24 hours per each phase.
Looking back at last year this it the normal, so I take it back they do switch some stuff for DST, i never really pay attention and just get shit done instead of waiting till the last minute so i probably never noticed it.
2022 DST in the USA was Mar 13 thru Nov 6
here are some start times of GAC during and after DST last year
Tuesday, September 20, 2022 9:00:00 PM UTC
Tuesday, October 25, 2022 9:00:00 PM UTC
Tuesday, November 8, 2022 10:00:00 PM UTC
So as @TVF said it has been happening before, it will happen again
So PSA on Nov 5 the US exits from Daylight savings time and it will shift an hour again if your area has not left daylight savings time on the same day.
Looking at the events data this will change the time of events like GAC, assault battles, conquest, galactic challenges (stuff on the monthly schedule)
Also shows how.... nvm don't want another forum warning from a mod. "DarjeloSalas;c-2411628" wrote:

The run times did change for me though.
Yes, because of the DST change, but not because CG changed them.
Edit: So apparently they do change the start time on the DST change. Should be the end time, but I was wrong.- Ahh those are straight UTC times, so no they didn’t change. DST changed.

But the knock on effect was that they did change for many users.
I live in the UK which has been using UTC for the last 6 months or so. The current GAC round started and ended at different times to normal, even though we are still observing UTC here.
Yes, that is what I was saying. DST goes into effect which creates a time change for international accounts. CG doesn’t change anything or adjust it themselves, everything still rolls at the same internal time. It would need to be adjusted by CG to not affect international accounts.- notthatguybefore3 years agoSeasoned AceI can confirm what Darjelo is saying. I’m in the UK too and our clocks haven’t changed in the last few weeks, but GAC and everything else moved an hour earlier. This makes perfect sense if, as would be expected all in game events are linked to the local time for CG and their move in time zones to DST.

They did actually change them. During non DST the start time is 2200 during DST it is 2100. My guess is they are manually scheduling the events using a calendar that observes DST so they stay the same with local time on us west coast, and shifts an hour UTC time.
I am surprised someone uses a regular calender for these things. - scuba753 years agoLegend

Than it would affect local accounts.
The only good way is how all the dailies are, set to UTC time with no care about DST. Than when a player shifts locally than they should know all thier times shift by an hour.
Or you know, one day the world will stop shifting clocks around
