And I'm in K4. I'm not simply whining about my own matchups. You can't honestly tell me that you haven't had guildies and allies experience the same thing. If you try to, I'm calling B.S.

If you can't win close to 50% of your matches for whatever reason, you don't belong this high on the ladder and will go down until you find your sweet spot. It doesn't mean you have to like it though.
I had guildies complaining about unfair match ups, but no one was completely smashed and each one had a close match. They're all K2-K1. Now if you wish to call me whatever you want for saying that, up to you, but it seems to work very well at this level.

Now your "How many more times will whales have to throw matches so they can get bumped backwards to beat on weaker players" is a different concern, because it doesn't create interesting battles. They don't play you win, they play you lose. I just hope it's anecdotal enough in those lower parts of the ladder so it doesn't ruin the experience.

I agree that sometimes it seems unfair, my past match was a 6.8 mil player vs. my 4.9mil. I ended up winning the round but lost the prior two rounds to players with 6.4mil-6.9mil GP. I just didn’t have the depth to win those, same happened last round and in the last two rounds I went 2/6. Overall though I think that with just a little nudge in my roster development I would be able to beat all of them.

“Fair” is a subjective concept, but I think the new system is as fair as a system can get. If someone in your bracket has way more GP and GLs than you do, it means some combination of you being really good at GAC for your roster, them using poor strategy, or them only playing GAC sporadically. I’m in K2 with 3 GLs but won a pair of matches this week against players with 5 and 6 GLs. Why? Because one guy barely plays GAC and the other is really bad at it. That’s why they had the same GAC rating as me. No one is guaranteed a match against a player with similar GP or GLs; in fact, it’s guaranteed it won’t happen sometimes. But it all works out over the long run.

The new system is set up to regulate crystal flow and distribution, not to create competitive matches. If the majority of players are winning about half the time and the player base is spread among the leagues/divisions in the desired proportions then the system is doing its job.

How would they know what their matches are like? They are not playing it. They are the ones guaranteeing their drop in rewards.

I don't know why someone who just thinks the game mode is a waste of time, and are happy not playing it, would bother writing such a long post about it.

No ive not heard of any of my guildies or myself facing an opponent with no GLs (i have all and im K2)

I have faced peeps with 3 GL to my 6... and if they put any on defense they have to be really good at startegy or cheat to beat my normal defense GL settings.

That said. Its possible. At Kyber 2 and 1 its all about what teams you have reliced outside of the GLs for both defense and offense.


You facing 1 GL more than you is not uncommon. Ive beaten GL teams without using a GL, just depends on whats there and if you can afford a double tap or not (if i mod better i can probably do it with 1 attempt... but i hate gac so...)
