No ive not heard of any of my guildies or myself facing an opponent with no GLs (i have all and im K2)
I have faced peeps with 3 GL to my 6... and if they put any on defense they have to be really good at startegy or cheat to beat my normal defense GL settings.
That said. Its possible. At Kyber 2 and 1 its all about what teams you have reliced outside of the GLs for both defense and offense.
You facing 1 GL more than you is not uncommon. Ive beaten GL teams without using a GL, just depends on whats there and if you can afford a double tap or not (if i mod better i can probably do it with 1 attempt... but i hate gac so...)
