“Fair” is a subjective concept, but I think the new system is as fair as a system can get. If someone in your bracket has way more GP and GLs than you do, it means some combination of you being really good at GAC for your roster, them using poor strategy, or them only playing GAC sporadically. I’m in K2 with 3 GLs but won a pair of matches this week against players with 5 and 6 GLs. Why? Because one guy barely plays GAC and the other is really bad at it. That’s why they had the same GAC rating as me. No one is guaranteed a match against a player with similar GP or GLs; in fact, it’s guaranteed it won’t happen sometimes. But it all works out over the long run.
