Anyone with a brain realizes this is a relatively simple, overwhelmingly desired, and uncontroversial change.

It'd be one thing if I was asking for, let's say, a change to the difficulty of a raid. Or a nerf to a toon. Then I could understand all the people jumping in to CG's defense for not acting on my request.

But in this case, if CG does what I'm asking, NOBODY will complain about it. Nobody.

Additionally, an overwhelming number of players agree with me that this QOL change is needed.

And yet, some will still LEAP to CG's defense in this case. Just cuz.

I’m not defending CG. I simply don’t believe they are capable of accomplishing what you are asking for and delivering new content simultaneously. I’ll go with new content first since I know to not hit the join button until I’m actually ready to join. Not real concerned about the folks that can’t figure it out.

Q: Will you add a confirmation button for the gac registration or the chance to cancel and register again like it is with the TW registration?
A: CG_Miller - We've looked into this in the past, and the task is bigger than most players realize. Once you register for the GAC we start the process of building the matchups immediately, and you can imagine the havoc one would wreck if players could drop in and out and in and out of the GAC while the game is trying to do some matchup heavy lifting.


It's really not as easy of a fix as you think. And yes I would like CG to focus on new content rather than a fix that is easily avoidable for someone who pays a little attention.

Unless your arena PO is close and you need to mod your arena team, you can just move mods a few hours ahead of time and then join and then move mods back to your toons

This brings me back to my previously stated point: I know in the most recent Q&A, CG said that matchmaking starts right after you click "join." But that doesn't make sense because some people don't join until the last few minutes or seconds of the join period. So if the matchmaking algorithms can wait on them to join, surely, they can wait for me to leave and then rejoin.

It's the same story for TW matchmaking. What if a guild is at 221K GP until the last 5 seconds of the join period, and then another member joins with 5K GP? That puts that guild over the 225K "hump" and into the next TW tier. So whichever guild they were matched up with until those final few seconds of the join period can't be matched up with them anymore unless they also had members join in the last few seconds that propelled their collective GP to the next tier.

I think if you join in the last few seconds you get matched in the last few seconds. Meanwhile everyone else who already joined has been matched. As for TW there’s 50 or less to to a guild, making the pool of guilds way smaller, and with a larger range (iirc). Also I would think that even if a guild had everyone leave right before and put on a giant pile of gear (unlikely to say the least), how much could their collective gp even increase? Just sayin

Mistakes happen, especially in the middle of a TB where you're constantly swapping mods. It's easy to overlook a few toons, as I did today, when rearranging your mods, join GAC, and then realize later that you forgot to add mods back to a few toons. An "are you sure?" button would prompt players to go back and double check their mods. Being about to leave and rejoin JUST LIKE TW would be even better.

I know and you all know I'm not alone in this. Again, this is one of the most, if not THE most requested QOL change from the community. Yet CG refuses.

Put effort elsewhere? Brother, I'm not asking them to create an Exogal raid here or a new TB. I'm literally asking them to add the ability to leave and rejoin GAC. One dev could probably do this while drinking his morning coffee one morning. Literally.

How do you know how complicated of a job it is? Have you looked over the code? I haven’t seen it but based off previous statements it sure sounds like their code is a mess. I’ve had many tasks over the years I thought would be a breeze until I actually dug into the code/SQL/formulas that other folks wrote. Unless you work for CG I don’t think you’re in a position to pontificate on the LOE.

Adding a confirmation pop up to the join button is one thing, but being able to join, unjoin and join again, is quite another and no telling how much dev work that would take.

I hit join by mistake today. My vader has no cross mod. sad face
