GAC rework

Been playing 18 months f2p, just hit 5M, 0 GL 0 conquest units and in chrome 2. Won 2 out of 3 last event both wins coming against 11M GP and multiple GL’s. Not being able to get out of carbonite is 100% a skill issue. GAC isn’t perfect but it matches on a skill rating that is based on W/L so it is correctly matching you to people at your level. If you can’t get out, then you are in the correct league until you are able to get promoted.

So, there was...is an issue with Squish in Kyber.  I think because K1 doesn't get promoted, they get neg squish instead of positive squish like all the other leagues where players finish the season in Div 1.

There was an attempt to modify the squish formula to fix the fact that K1 had shrunk in size dramatically.  At that point, these weird and certainly unsuitable accounts starting appearing in K1.

I don't think any explanation has been given as to why.  It appears it could be something to do with the 'legacy' score.  Or it could be something to do with original GP placements. 

It certainly needs fixing.

I 100% agree with your comments.  However, the main issue (for me) isn't the difficulty of getting out of Carbonite.  As you say, if you're ready to get out of Carbonite, you'll get out of Carbonite.

However, its the interactive experience of the matches in low Carbonite.   How bad is it if your first match is vs a 10 million GP account that probably won't play.  How are you supposed to have a competitive battle vs a 2 GL front wall defence when you're account has only just become eligible?  It's all very well being promoted to the point where you're playing up a large amount of GP, that's WAI.  However, how do players feel when they're winning C5 matches 10-0.  This is what needs rectified.

This I agree with. Realistically everyone under 6 months account age or 3 seasons of gac or something should be in a beginners league. Get promoted out when you win your first 3/3 or some safe zone where you’re just going to encounter roughly the same level of experience. I think by the time you’re doing medium conquest you should absolutely be able to handle carbonite though and field 3 teams + fleet on d and have a shot at countering the same on offense. Otherwise you’re doing something wrong, whether neglecting mods or just not really learning the game.

Been playing since day one, never been in a big guild that does raiding, just doing daylies and regular events. Never pursued having a superstrong account resulting in me only having kylo and Rey Gl, mainly due to the 10 dollar lbs from a few years back currently on master Luke now. Finally got all of the conquest chars after years of farming 20 shards a piece…..I do not have relic 9 characters ( besides CuP) and datacrons because that would mean spending a lot of cash money…….so everytime gac comes around I get exited, only to be disappointed as soon as I see my opponent having mostly relic 9 and 8 chars and more than 4 galactic legends…..mostly I do not stand a chance to become no 1 in my bracket….i will still try tho and refuse to drop down for easy shards. If players would get points for being active  and placed in a bracket based on that, I would stand even less of a chance.

in theory gac as it is now is fine it just needs to have some minimal requirements.. no gl’s in carbonite , max of 2 in  bronzium, max of 4 in chromium…..

Players would have an 'activity score'.  You wouldn't get Skill Points for being active.  

Activity Score example:

-2 = 0 banners

-1 = 1 attack

0  =  Cleared 1 wall or attacks equal to 1 wall (2 attacks in 1 team wall leagues)

+1  =  Cleared 2 walls or as many attacks as there are front wall teams  (3 attacks in 1 team wall leagues)

+2  =  Cleared 3 walls or more or as many attacks as there are teams  (4 attacks in 1 team wall leagues)

Max/min Activity Scores +/- 10. 

You are matched first on your Skill Points and then with players with the same Activity Score.

I don't see why you'd stand less of a chance.  If this were the case, then you're receiving wins due to player inactivity and are placed too high.

Well, you're tailoring it to suit you or players like you.  Also, this inhibits spending.  Remember, the game needs players to spend to keep going.   This, is never going to happen.

It's a ladder system.  You are being paired with players that have found their equilibrium in the same place as you.  You stand exactly 1/8 chance of winning. 

Ive shared this thought on other threads and here it is. Steps to possibly help right the ship. Place a max GP of 4 - 6 mil on Carbonite leaving the other tiers as is, this gives newish players a chance. Second problem is the weekly rewards, there is zero difference between Kyber and Carbonite. This provides zero incentive for the large accounts to put in any real effort.  Hit them in the proverbial wallet by taking away the cheap means of crystal income. The weekly needs be scaled in the same fashion as the daily and round rewards. Again this is just an opinion from an old head to help protect the new folks from being abused and quitting. Keep the player base growing which would be good for the community and game.
