If I was designing the game, or fixing this one, one of the issues I'd work on is giving every node the "Zeta Treatment" like they did with Fleet Challenge Ability Mat Zetas.
It changed from 0-2 random to Flat 1.
Now obviously with Nodes being 20-25% drop rate & Hard Nodes having 1/3 character shard rate its going to be a bit more complex.
My thought is remove all "redundant gear". If its in 6 nodes. Make it just 1.
Drop all nodes down to 1-2 pieces of gear & make them 100% drop rate.
Ditto Character Shards. (Training Droids, Ability Mats, etc etc)
Instead of characters being in more than 1 node make it a single node & guaranteed drop.
Put Stun Guns into a single Node but know what if you go there you will get 100% drop rate.
If there are too many pieces & not enough nodes then pair up lower tier ones.
Single Piece of Gold Gear or Non-Challenge Purple 50 count gear in a single node.
Pair up a higher level blue with one of the 20 count Purples, or pair up 1 of those with a Character Shard in a Hard Node.
Make every node a place you Want to go to for a certain item but also KNOW that you will go there & get exactly what you need in that exact # of farms.

Frustration is a motivator in getting players to spend money...- IIRC they said in the last Q and A they did help with the gear crunch. I don't know who they helped but it wasn't me lol
- Thing about the gear crunch is it is the same for everyone. Stun guns easier to acquire for you or me are then easier to acquire for everyone so nobody is getting ahead and therefore no advantage is gained in making them more easy to acquire.
Game is 4 years old. Gear has been an intended bottleneck for ages. It's there to create frustration spending or to accept that progress requires patience. I can't see that changing. It's a pointless conversation. "Mohrashal;d-221598" wrote:

I took Thrawn from g9 to R2 in a week and a half. It takes that much focus... That's it.- I spend almost all energy on gear farming. Gear crunch sucks and is necessary at the same time. Only focus on certain factions at a time.

Not exactly sure what last film recently dropped will give to CG but from what I saw its limited. - They altered the stun gun crunch by introducing gear with a different name that you need the same/more(?) of. Pray they don’t alter it further

This game will last until the launch of the DVD and will end ... They don't care about the game but only about the 0.01% of whale that still spend thousands of dollars...
They don't care about dolphins....
They will do anything they can to grab as much money they can from this little part...
