Gold Gear Farming Drop Rate (Spoiler - its not good)
So just started tracking what it takes to farm gold gear and I don't have large set of data, but the drop rate is so abysmal I couldn't keep it to myself.
Farming Mk 5 Athakam Medpac Component (DS 9F)
Farmed - 9 pieces out of 74 attempts
Drop Rate - 12.16%
Energy Required to gain 50 pieces - 4111
Crystals needed for 4111 energy @ 50 crystals a pop - ~1713 crystals needed
Days to farm 50 pieces including 2 refreshes plus 3x daily bonuses - 6.68 days (This is assuming you don't use energy for anything else)
Assuming I just had really bad RNG and the actual drop rate should be 12/74 attempts at 16.22%, it would still take 5 days to farm or 1284 crystals worth of refreshes. The drop rate would need to be at ~27.7% for it to be worth 750 crystal refreshes (the cost to outright buy it in shipments). So yes you're probably better off grabbing it out of shipments.
