- Question of the ages. What's been mentioned before is it's tenacity minus potency, and tenacity bottoms at 15%. But behavior in game doesn't explain that too well, since I've had a character with 90% potency get resisted multiple times in a row by someone with less than half of that in tenacity.

Not exactly right. The resist chance is potency minus tenacity. The resist chance has a minimum of 15%. This means that if tenacity down is applied there is still a 15% resist chance- First, outside of potency/tenacity he has an 80% chance to produce the effect.
If he does produce the effect:
Tenacity - potency = chance to resist(this vaue can never be lower then 15%)
In your example it would be a 15% chance to resist the effect. Or vader would have an 85% chance to land the effect. "Kyno;930393" wrote:

So the chance of vader landing on a non jedi target is 0.80 (80% chance to apply) x 0.85 (potency/tenacity check). Thats assume the attack isnt evaded completely.
Jedi are different again. The effect cant be evaded or resisted but im not clear whether the 80% chance still applies on jedi. The description isnt clear.- I should have added "in the example in the op where potency is > tenacity." The math is different against non jedi if tenacity is more than 15% higher than potency.

There are 2 checks for a skill like this, assuming you hit the target. (jedi can't evade.)
First check 80% chance to have the effect happen. With jedi this is still here.
Second potency/tenacity check. This will always pass if against a jedi. (Jedi can't be resisted)"Kyno;930393" wrote:

Are you 100% sure this is true?"ImjustaPUG;930389" wrote:

Wrong. If the resist chance was potency minus tenacity, then higher potency = higher resist chance.
Resist chance is tenacity minus potency, minimum 15%. As others have said."Snake2;930466" wrote:

So basically tenacity mods are horrible?
