How to beat Poe

If you want the best % chance possible to beat Poe use this team.

Sid
Gs
Rey
Hoth scout
Dooku

You need 2 or 3 of your team to go before their Poe. Pick ig-88 or qui-gon someone you know that does a ton damage that you have a good chance to kill. Poe will taunt the rest of your team into attacking him their first turn. The idea is to come away after the first turn against a maxed out Poe team both down 2 people. Then you can focus characters and win. If you absolutely can't stand using Poe this the best way way to counter him at the moment. Cheers.

    I hope this works.

It doesn't, unless you get very lucky. Even replacing Kylo with a 6* Dooku who has a chance to go before Poe, it usually doesn't.
  • This team is solely for offense when you want to beat Poe without using your own Poe. Can other teams beat a maxed Poe team? Sure. Whats kind of % win rate do they have? I have no idea.

If you guys want to look into a fun revive and tank based def build check out my most recent guide on teaminstinct.net the suicide squad. I am going to have to update it for the most recent patch however. Basically, swapping savage in for mace.
  • According to reports a tanky aoe team including non farmable snow trooper can win a little over half the time against the ai. That is not win easily.

Yeah thought about this again and it must be his speed.

Maybe Qui Gon works there too, he'll have a small chance of going before Poe, and if not, he can remove the taunt.

No there's 0% chance Qui-Gon goes before Poe. Unless you use your own Poe, but that's turn meter manipulation.

OK, good to know. But... in a way, is that almost an advantage? Don't you want Qui Gon going immediately after Poe so he can remove the taunt?

It depends if we are talking about ofense or defense. If you control the action, QGJ will never ever in his life dispel Poe in a Poe-fast-DPS team. Poe taunts, then whole Poe team goes, focus fire on QGJ, and kill him, 99.9999% of the time.

If it's the AI, it might work, because the AI might shoot whoever else besides QGJ

Oh my god, the rumors where true... it has finally happened... Episode VIII: Return of the Snow.
  • I don't know what I am doing wrong but I usually have no more issue beating Poe teams than any other. All my toons are are of the FTP variety even if I did buy credits to get them better gear.
  • The thing about Poe that I think many are missing, and specificly about the Poe vs Poe match-up, is that your Poe actually gets worse the more of your teammembers that move on turn 7.

The reason we include Poe is for the turnmeter reduction and how that lets us attack before the enemy. So we already have the 50/50 that our Poe will act after the enemy Poe. Then if we run a team of 4 turn 7 damagedealers, we also have the chance that our Poe actually goes after all or most of our dps and then he is just a taunt. And while others might like to include someone that is great in less than half the matches, I don't like the RNG of such a character.

Also I think that any teamcomposition that wants to get a good match-up against the Poe teams will have to adjust for the times when their Poe acts early and you have to start 5v3. The only way you have a good chance of getting out of that one is if you can give turnmeter to your damagedealers so while the enemy gets the first volley, you get the second and third.

Therefor I'm considering a team that might look like:
Dooku (good against Qui-Gon Jin that I expect a lot of)
    Rey (one-shot potential before Poe)
Geonosian Soldier (one-shot potential before Poe)
Qui-Gon Jin (Can really bolster your second volley if he lives)
Stormtrooper Han (Has a chance of messing up turnorder if enemy uses aoe or is targeted, can stage the comeback with turnmeter to the team)
  • Geonosian Soldier is a turn 8 as of yet. That's why he's a 100% guarantee in Poe Doom DPS teams.
