Just unlocked the shard shop. Am I understanding this correctly?

For people that have 100+ extra shards of multiple characters, it's better than doing nothing with those shards.

Persoanlly, I only exchange for Vader. And today I get two shipments of Vader, totally 4 shards. I hope I can benefit from this "unfair" trade everyday!

Crazy, right? It's really designed for people that spend large amounts of money on the game.

I've decided I'm only exchanging my huge 870 currency :D for Rey shards. I've had the shop unlocked since it came out and bought a few extra shards in shipments to have some currency. So far, no Rey shards have appeared and I've checked every day.

I've gotten maybe 10 or so Rey shards this way and 5* Vader.

So, you'll need to exchange 20 extra shards from a 7* character just to get TWO shards for another in the shop? How is this even worth anyone's time?

Ive not long unlocked it but my understanding is prior to the shard shop any extra shards were just dead weight and served no purpose. So although you may not agree with the conversion rate it's better than nothing. Personally I don't envisage I'll be needing it in the near future but maybe 6 months down the line it may have a purpose

Just sit on any extras and let the currency build up in the background or alternatively if you want to overfarm arena, GW or nodes if there's nothing else you need then just convert and let it build up

You lucky so and so. I've seen nothing like that in mine.

I understand it's better than nothing. They could have made it a little better though so there's incentive to farm for shards of maxed out characters in order to convert them. As it is now I'll not waste my time farming a ton of Luminara shards to unlock Kylo in a year. lol

The exchange rate is absolutely atrocious imo. And I did get seriously bummed out the first time the shop attempted to sell me back my own shards, at 10x what it paid for them. That's one douche move.
