- Completely agree. There may be some people upset over some rule changes, but if you at least announce them in the update notes, then we at least know what's going on. Instead they make stealth changes all the time. I guess it's just a new age of community management in gaming

Maybe it should have been that way from the start. I remember the fiasco when the pit raid first started and all the guild hopping that was going on .
It probably should have, but does not excuse them not telling us it was changing."APX_919;948091" wrote:
That only ends merc pillaging, not mercing. Some people are willing to help without rewards. Sorry but I for one like the change, keeps people with weaker overall rosters from entering raids and getting RH or GK shards for minimal work before leaving to hit the next guild in a few days.
Actually, it hinders people that want to help a great deal. If you join a guild while the raid is already on the way (usually when people realize they need help) you cannot even participate in the raid.
It's not necessarily a bad change, but the sneakiness is messed up. - For the most part I agree. I've despised guild hopping since it's inception. And I know that 99% of mercs aren't doing it out of the goodness of their heart.
But my main point is they should tell us they are making these changes. - Exactly, you cant even join in the raid. If they want to make a change, great, but dont do it without telling us about it.
- Well, if you can't participate in the raid...that makes this change a lot less desirable.

Completely disagree with this. Numerous times I have seen people offer to help complete a raid even if they're locked out of rewards- I like this update. For me a guild is a team working to accomplish a common goal... bringing in some ringers always felt dirty to me.

That's why I said 99% :)- I merced a bunch, both for the extra rewards (which were already relatively constrained based on the ticket system they had in place for the past few months) and so that I could help weaker guilds get through HAAT. People just assume that we merc to cheat the system, a lot of us do it to help smaller guilds, especially the many that I know who already have a 7* GK.
My main complaint here is that they do these things without telling us. It is bad enough that they only tell us after the fact that an update is live (would have been nice to know to save yesterday's GW battles for example), but on top of that they make changes to the game in secret, and these changes can have significant consequences to the players. If the game was completely free, then fine, do what you want, but people are spending money on something, and they don't know what it is they are getting on a day to day basis. EA needs to be more transparent in what they are doing, they give the player base absolutely no reason to trust them. - There have without a doubt been some dirty tricks played using this method, but I have personally seen it done in good faith more than once. It helps build networks without forcing mergers or losing your strongest members due to the inability to get over the hump.
