Legendary Difficulty Philosophy

With the difficulty of the Chewbacca event being so high, I'm curious about CG's philosophy of new legendary events moving forward. What is the philosophy behind the Chewbacca event? Why so difficult? Is this going to be the new difficulty of all legendary events moving forward? G12 takes a long time for me to get to, even with 3 refreshes/day. I think it takes me roughly a month to get a single character to G12, so with 12 per year at that rate, is CG adding steps to make that grind faster? Anything CG is able to share at this point in time?

Maybe the event is much easier (lower gear required) when using jango embo and bossk? From what i’ve gathered the event was much more difficult than the thrawn event due to the fact that having 5x7* bounty hunters was fairly common, so being able to get a 7* chewie with the original BHs at g8/9 would practically turn the event into a hand out for most players.
We also need to take into consideration that getting toons to g8 currently is no where near as difficult as it was when the first legendary event was launched, so it stands to reason that the gear requirements overall keep increasing just to maintain the same level of relative difficulty.

    Totally Agree!!

Be thankful they made tier 5easy enough for you and your scrub BHs. The level of entitlement in this community is outstanding.

Which 65% of your posts continue to point out...we get it bra.

Get what bra? As long as there's kids like you complaining when cg does something good I'll keep posting

Regular people dont have game changer-level mods either.... i think the highest ive been able to create is like a 16? On a 5* (ho hum) The RNG is a cruel mistress and you do not want to build events around people having to reroll 500x to get one lucky break... the entire sith raid has been screaming this lesson for how long now?

if you farmed mods you can have decent ones. I have several +15 speed secondaries, a few +18 and I think 1 +21 speed secondary.

That being said, I left those on my arena team. I figured it may take awhile to beat the event and didn't want to drop like a rock in arena or contantly switch mods.

So I put good non arena mods on my team. Mostly went for protection and health with some crit damage on boba and a lot of crit chance on greedo for obvious reasons. That actually helps more than the speed.

With the preloaded tm, even my arena mods didn't make much difference on getting to go sooner. And the added health and protection makes it where you have 4 or more bhs standing after the initial onslaught on all but the worst rng runs.

    So god mods aren't req.

Like i posted elsewhere it should have just been a Bossk, aurra, embo, jango zam unlock. Regular difficulty... all 7* required.

that would have been horrid. Considering 3 of the 5 aren't even farmable, that would be a strait up cash grab.

At least the way they did it, ftp players had a chance.

How do you get jango ftp when he's released two or 3 days before the event. Requiring him or the other non farmable bhs would be a slap in the face to the ftp players which make up 90% of players. That's even worse than another marquee. It'd be a marquee that costs 5 times as much and puts the legendary behind a 6 month pay wall at least.

Whales can still spend on gear or new characters if they don't want to put in effort. I hear a g12 jango team can auto it.
  • I just find it disappointing because they failed to update raid rewards for sith/haat until this event came out...you know the rewards that are supposed to help us get our characters to g12 as opposed to building our challenge gear...so basically they dragged their feet for what over 6 months after acknowledging that their raid rewards were horrible. Then suddenly we have an event that requires basically all g12 if you failed to farm the easy unlock characters.

i hear you on that. Not sure why the rewards weren't changed much sooner.

But you'd be surprised how easy bossk is to gear. I went from g9 to g11 in like a day a lot of it was gear I already had hundreds of. I actually was waiting on challenge gear to get to g11 when I beat the event.
  • Thanks for all the responses. I don’t want this thread to derail into anyone complaining about the event being too hard, or guides on how to do it. There are other threads for those. I was really hoping CG would chime in and answer some of the original questions I posted.
