Max Damage Potential: It's time it gets reworked!

There's no justifiable argument that any toon should be able cause more damage potential than the H/P remaining on the toon they attack. Case in point: Zylo can easily 1-shot nearly any toon and pick up more Protection than the entire H/P that now dead toon had. In the below pic, Zylo 1-shots my Rex, who had all but about 15K total H/P left.

    Yes, that's the just of my argument. Damage on a toon requires said toon to have H/P. In example, GK's AOE special won't call other toons in to assist unless there's enough damage remaining beyond GK's initial hit. In the raids, say the Pit for example, one cannot earn more damage points than the Rancor has health.

    Well, I would assume they are technically called to assist, but the target is already dead, so they would be attacking air if it didn't check to see if the target actually still existed.

    Not at all. Just to note, I am perfectly fine for Zylo to 1-shot, but I personally feel Zylo should only be able to create damage as to what's remaining on the toon he's attacking, thus gaining back protection equal to such. This goes for any toon.

    So you're saying target has 20k health, initial attack does 25k before assist, and all other full team attacks still call the rest of the team to attack a -5000 health target?

    Or that the target has 20k health, initial attack does 15k, leaving 5k, which is less than the initial hit?

    That honestly isn't part of my argument, per se. I was giving examples of remaining available damage on a toon. Those examples I have create enough damage to finish said toon.

    How is there an ability to create more damage than the object being attack has at its disposable to give?

    Isn't that just the way the game has always worked. Attack, roll for damage, subtract damage from targets health/protection, if remainder is <= 0, target dead. Roll assist, if target is dead, pass, if not attack.

    Absolutely! You're 100% right. However, Zylo manages to create more damage than what's left available on the toon to take from, thus healing back his Protection for the damage he created.

    The justifiable argument is that it's damage done, not damage received. This mechanism exists in almost every game.
