It makes sense to have higher tier gear be acquired slower than lower tier gear (I can't believe I just called old raid gear lower tier)- It fits the theme for everything else in game...

- I have no problem with slowing people down. I hope they leave some of the gear in the raid only and also prevent guild hopping and truly throttle everyone. A slow grind isn't so bad when there are no exploits for some to take advantage of.
- What's with all the quality control on the new Tank Raid, QC never stopped them before? A lot of tinkering and adjusting going on with this one. In the mean time, the Rancor raid is getting very long in the tooth.
- Until we see what the rewards really are it's hard to say. They flattened out the payout so overall the payout might be better and less frequency could be warranted. Hard to tell.

This is a good point. Using raid gear to slow down growth isn't a problem...so long as people can't find loopholes to work around the designed throttling. As long as everyone is in the same boat, it's not a big issue.- Assuming we earn tickets same as rancor that's very three days at best, four for most or less than two a week. Even a highly active guild has people occasionally on vacation. That does not feel often enough to me.

This + it was never stated that the 2nd raid currency is earned at the same rate (although, it probably is).
Sounds about right... Earn at same rate with same caps.... Need more to open the new gear gate...... Make new gear take even longer to obtain.

With the character shard leveling from position 4 onwards, I wouldnt be surprised if the total number of shard rewards per raid increased. This alone would justify a cost increase to start the raid.
Unfortunately I have become very skeptical at things like this, because well track record of everything normally sounds way better than it actually is.
Hope for the best assume the worst.
So my assumption is:
Raise raid cost
Reduce total number of shards per raid
Raise costs to earn tickets to open the raid
Reduce gear dropped per raid
