A newbie guild being able to finish the CRancor raid was probably one of the reasons for its removal.
There are many issues with the new raid system, but preventing non-contributors from getting rewards isn't one of them. Perhaps this is an unpopular opinion.
The main reason I disagree with this is because that is an opinion that is already left to guild leadership. Remove players if contributing is important to you. But in a casual guild like mine, I have no problem with helping newer accounts that can’t get there on their own yet. Especially since some of them are literal family that we are passing important things on too, like how awesome Star Wars is.
I agree with this completely. We have some casual guilds in our alliance to help lower players get into the game. Even in my competitive guild, sometimes people need a day off for family, medical, or even vacation. One guy in my guild didn't do much in Krayt because his wife gave birth to their first child.
As an officer in the Guild, I had a discussion with the other officers that this raid feels like a prison sentence. No one is allowed to have time off or be away when the raid is going on. That was never the case with any of the other raids!
At one time CG said they were wanting to bridge the gap between low and mid-range players, and higher players. But everything they've done since then appears to have done the opposite.
