Obviously not all fans, but there is a good sized chunk of fans who hate any female character who isn't what they consider hot. OT Leia and Padme get passes, but characters like Holdo and Reva always get hated for being "poorly written" by fans who love Kenobi and Anakin and Starkiller and other atrociously written characters.

I like Cara Dune, Jyn and Qi’ra. Really liked Fennec Shand. Its almost like we can choose who we like and if it is a male character we dont like it is ok but if it is a female then people make up a reason for it. Too many psychologists out there these days.

You just reminded me on something. The Last Jedi got review-bombed from what analysts thought was due to race, yet Rogue One had an extremely diverse cast, yet it didn't get hated on.

Well, to be fair, Rose had a major role (even if it was ~10 minutes of screentime) while Chirrut and Baze had (big) supporting roles.

I used to not like rouge one but then i watched it again and it might be one of my favorites.

I genuinely think Rogue One is as good as ESB. It's a brilliant Star Wars movie.

Not only is Rogue one a great movie, the endor series is really really well done and the story doesn't contradict itself every 2 minutes, and doesn't relay on series of macguffin to push the plot forward or cribgy dialog. Emperor palpatine is some how back ? or They fly now!

I really enjoyed Cassian too. It makes TLJ and RoSW all the more puzzling. It's not like there aren't good writers out there that can smash Star Wars material.

2 directors for trilogy is a huge mistake, i dont know disney board approved such disaster of a decision, Rian Johnson single handedly destroyed the sequel trilogy, he left JJ Abrams no choice other than somehow bring back the papa palpatine and try to fix the whole thing. Plus didnt Rian say he loves ending and wanted to make an ending for star wars or something in an interview recently. That would explain why he killed snoke, maybe JJ could explore Reys past but nope that also ended with TLJ, maybe focus on Finn and phasma rivalry? Nope she dead. Rian literally left no avenues for JJ.

The OT had three different directors. One difference though was they had one person in charge of the overall script.

I genuinely have no idea what this thread originally started as, but it is evolving faster that the Corona Virus.

To the point of this post, I agree with you that Rogue One is as good as ESB (I would personally say it's better), but from the point of view that I don't think ESB is the best. I just really, really like OG-og OT movie of A New Hope.
