Relics and their effectiveness in general

So lately I've been working on several characters and their relics and have currently only reached relic level 4. I've noticed more stat growth on some characters than others. Asajj and grievous seem to get alot more than the others so far while my relic level 4 jedi revan and gm Yoda seem like they really didn't get much. Are relics meant to be game changing or just a waste of time? I want to work on important characters for big events and I feel like relics for some toons have been nothing short of another set of mods with mediocre stat boosts

  • Relics are meant to be both game-changing and a waste of time. A waste if not taken to R7, but R7 is supposed to change things. And, I predict, R7 will not be the end, the real game changer will be R8, which will be like zetas 2.0 and will not only change stats, but add new abilities.
  • I put relics on 3/5 of my geos (working on the last 2) and I no longer have to worry about JKR mirror matches. Steamrolling up to the DR wall in arena is now fun instead of a chore.
  • R7 Boba just about kills everyone now with his rocket. He's awesome to behold now.
  • Relics just boost the abilities of a perticlular type of character, like attacker gets boost to attack abilities, tanks get health and protection boost and so on. The only thing they don't affect is speed. So even if you have a relic on a tank and your attcker is slower than your opponent, he may get killed before he can attack and your tank will be killed eventually. So, you have to choose wisely, while upgrading a character.
  • Eventually everyone will be equal in relics and it will be the mods to determine who wins in arena.
  • Not all relics are created equal - by broad design.

You need to look at the highlighted (in green) stats to see what will be increased with relics. This is one of either Strength, Agility, Tactics PLUS “Mastery.”

You should be able to reasonably predict if your toon will increase in stats the way you’d prefer, or if their relic is a poor choice of scarce resources.

In general, Attackers received the best boost to stats... of all attackers, Agility Attackers get the most boost to pure offense (Nightsister Spirit, for example, becomes RIDICULOUS at higher relic levels). JKA, as a Strength Attacker, gains Health, Damage, and Armor... cool if you run him with Padmé, less impressive if you run him with Jedi.

Looking at Traya, a Tactics Support toon, would generally leave you unimpressed with her gains... until you realize she gains ungodly Crit Avoidance for survivability, and that you’re meant to mod her to take advantage of her stacking offense and offensive gains at high relic levels.

While making toons stronger, relics also tend to pigeon-hole them more to specific teams and roles, which I believe is a big part of their intention.
