I've tried to tackle this old bugbear on forums myself in the past with the same predictable derailing.

It's really only a problem for Free to Play players, since you can buy credit packs in the store for crystals. At a push you can convert squad arena store currency to credits - very ill-advised as you *should* be buying Prestige, but it's there as a last resort.
