Ships Hot Take ...

well, i don't like ships and i don't have 90+ speed mods. (1 character with exactly +90).

I rank top 10 in ships daily and I think they're unbalanced. You can play a perfect game and still lose because the enemy's Biggs target locked on every attack.

Not sure what the discussion is about, but ship are fine as is.

I believe majority of people don't like ships because it takes almost 7-8 minutes to complete and majority of the time you use the whole timer and draw (which wastes your time).

You are also dealing with a lot of RNG when playing ships, there are time where TFP took a 1 vs 3 and I lost because of how many times TFP dodged my attacks... (granted the 3 ships I had left were down to 50% Hp, but still...)

Ships are too herky-jerky. Too many protection/taunt/debuff crap happens and the Empire flag ship sucks. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. My 124,000 power team fails against a 110,000 then crushes a 130,000. Go figure. My most powerful ship, Poe can get shot down in 3 shots.

RNG gonna RNG. Best way to counter crazy Biggs RNG is to have your starting 5 be your own Biggs, and 4 target locking ships. I find the AI's Imperial TIE fighter dodging 10+ attacks in a row much more unbalanced than Biggs.

You've never had your arena team lose to a lower power team and defeat a higher power team?

I find all the protection/taunt/debuff leads to a much more strategic battle of picking the correct targets and watching your turn meters. You can damage a ship you don't need to take out right away knowing the AI will waste it's specials on it, leaving the ship you actually want to destroy exposed, for example.

I don't think 7-8 minutes is too long for a good battle (though most of mine are under 5). I think people are just used to their 30s Arena matches.

Perhaps it's because you've had plenty of time to max out characters for squad battles, yet like most players you probably only have a few ships to choose from and none of them are maxed out? That's where I get my "mostly level playing field" comment from.

i don't know about all that, I'm just not convinced that the fleet arena offers more in terms of strategy than the squad arena.
