Malevolence is a Separatist ship. BBQ Ani is not a separatist.

Do you need Uwing crew and phénix crew full relic’d to do so (genuinely asking) ? If yes, that’s probably why we’re not seeing rebels at the top of fleet meta. Especially if they don’t hold on D against g12 geos led by Grievous.
