Tie fighter pilot ability block

This can be resisted, correct? It does not say in description "this ability is unresistable". Has anyone seen it NOT land. Here is my scenario in arena. My Baze is 60% tenacity. Opponent TFP has 52% potency listed plus 32% for Palps lead. I have battled him at least 10 times and ability block lands every time. Seems out of whack. I know RNG and all that bull. I know I can add more tenacity, etc. who has seen it NOT land

    Chance to resist 60%-84% = - 24% chance to resist can't go below 15%.
So your Baze has the minimum chance to resist of ability block of 15%.

His tfp potency is overpowering your tenacity.
You would need to add 40% more tenacity just to raise your chance to resist by 1%
  • 60% tenacity against 84% potency for something w a base 100%? Seems like it should land all the time unless toons all have a 15% resist like Rancor which I doubt.

Tenacity - potency = resist chance no?

Characters do have a base 15% resist, though...

My understanding is that debuffs are a two-roll system--first roll to see if the effect is triggered, second roll to see if it sticks. So the 100% chance to apply ability block means the potency-tenacity challenge roll will happen on each attack, not that it will stick 100% of the time.
  • My TFP is Gear 11 and fully modded, and this ability block is resisted more than I would like to see. I suppose I am just unlucky. At least if I put StHan as the main target, the odds of him to resist both the ability block and the buff immunity is almost zero (no wonder he says not to tell him th odds) meaning no StHan taunt :)
  • I use mine for P1 of heroic rancor, and I have to restart a few times before I get ability block and all three with buff immunity.
  • Resist honestly feels just... Wierd. I don't know why they thought it was a good idea to basicly make you roll a die to see if you get to roll a die to apply alot of things.
Of course I came from a game with most effects being 100% and no resist, and it was more how to manipulate them in your advantage.
