It’s about time that this gets dialed down a notch, or raise those junk rewards on par with the difficulty of that mission. The rng in that is all over the place. You can 3* it one day, then never win on another day.
As an empire head I have always beasted this. I know the thrawn lead throws it off for some.
Point of reference - thrawn palp Vader tarkin dt All zetas, g12+5 and 6 dot mods. This may seem too much to invest in but I use that team (ipd for dt) in geo Tb and get pretty far , battles are a slog though. Phases 1-2 - 4/4 Phases 3-4 - 3/4-4/4
All those resources just to get 1-2 pieces of gear and a couple regular mods isn’t on par with the difficulty of that mission. A lot of players complain about this mission and I actually think they are right.
Fair enough. Again my view is skewed because I like putting resources into Empire.
I think Crackling doom is the key here. It also works against other teams in pve and pvp parts of the game. So maybe a waste for this event but overall it helps throughout the game.
Maybe not the best answer but at least it’s not like the vet smugs.
I found this event a pain but changed tactics today and managed to beat it for the first time. Only Zeta was on EP lead
Thrawn G11 Vader G12 EP G12 DT G12 Shore G10
Used Shore Trooper to soak up initial hits. Then Vader AOE. Then Thrawn passes turn meter to EP and AOE stun them. After that relatively straightforward to pick them off
Using Shore was key. He takes the attacks from the preloaded TM. Then the rest of the team are ready to go.
I find using any empire tank helps to get through it with less RNG AI seems to target them more often than not on the opening preloaded turns For instance, I use the team in the pic
now thrawn is about 280 ish speed, but everyone else is less than 215 can take a turn or two, but it works
It's nice to have some challenging events every now and then. Most of the mythics are pretty easy now. I think I use a different team every time because I don't bother to remember. Today I used zEP, DT, Shore, and Range, all g12 except g11 Range. First try, only lost Shore.
Double tanking with enp also helps a lot in th reliability dept with this event. I did it with shore (g12) and RG(g10) to protect emp. Then you just need an aoe to finish them off, like vader, DT, or veers (i like dt since deathmark really clears away the pesky phoenix rebs like zeb and kanan). Thrawn is best used to heal the tanks for the first bit. Don't fracture, you want them to take turns so that crackling doom wears them down.
