Toons for Flash events

The first Flash event with Luke on Tatooine gave you Luke; the second set of Flash events with Phoenix gave you the Phoenix squadron; now Ewoks get a Flash event set, but we have to use our own toons, rather than geared/starred versions? I totally understand that we need to have the starred toons to play the tiers, but was there any word why the toon set was changed? And will this be the ongoing norm for Flash events?

  • Devs said they are doing this to see what option is the best. (So the events are better)
  • They are trying different things most likely to get the results they are looking for.

It wouldn't surprise me if they have all sorts of metrics telling them what % of active players completed what, with what etc.

This event was much easier than the Phoenix event, they most likely saw lower than expected numbers completing the bonus event etc. I know I had to pump a lot more gear and $$$ to beat the bonus for phoenix.

We are experimenting with the flash event format in order to find its resting state. Once we analyze the Ewok series and compare it to the others we will make a determination about the final form of the flash event type, and we will likely rework Phoenix and Ewok to adhere to that.

  • I am glad he responded to my thread on the subject however I am still wondering what the purpose is of the actual flash events? If it's to help bridge the gear gap then having to gear up 4-5 toons just to get more gear seems counterintuitive. If they want us to see how powerful squads can be than it is nice to play with given toons so we Can use full kits if we dont have them. At first I thought the flash would be taking us through Luke's journey but that is clearly now the case? So can someone answer what is the overall purpose behind these events or is even the Dev team still trying to figure it out. They were all somewhat different and I hope we don't experience the same thing with territory battles. (The idea of testing them to see where to go next).
  • The idea or goal of any event is to make use of toons. Some that are less used, or maybe used but never as a pure faction team.

They want to make the game as spread out as possible so you can't just build an arena team and do everything.

    I hope this helps.
  • It does. Than I feel that they need some way to either let you mix your toons with ones give (for everything but bonus. Bonus should always be using your own). Or they could at least give toons for tier one and have all other tiers be your own toons this way for people who don't have the right gear/level unlock they can at least play one tier with a strong squad and that might get them to start farming those toons to begin with.

We have no idea what the final results of the "testing" will produce.
