Unintended consequence of GL release

It's pretty clear what will be needed for the Galactic Legends. Not sure what more information you'll need. They require a boatload of characters from Resistance and First Order, and a vast majority of those characters will need to be something like R3 minimum.

So if you think you'll be able to unlock those characters just start pumping up every member of First Order and/or Resistance. Get them all to G13 and sit on the relic materials if you want to try and bare minimum the event then when they release details like they just did yesterday, you can finish off those characters.

OP: Of course they realize this. They are doing it this way on purpose. Their own stated reasoning is so we don't feel like we're panic farming. It is by design, and, shocker, not necessarily designed to make money.

-There are 13 pre-requisites for each faction - but only 10 FO toons In the game so far. Will the other 3 be ships? More new FO toons? CUP? We don’t know.
-Will Resistance need just all 13 toons geared up, or will it be 10 + something similar to FO?

I'm focusing on Resistance, because they're closer. What you focus on is up to you. If you can't decide, just farm the gear and wait.

And no, probably 5 characters and 8 ships. But you're right, we don't actually know, that just makes the most sense.

As F2P it'll take years to relic all the toons up and that's with prioritising relic gear and absolutely zero character development/shard grinding.

Hoard the materials? Not bloomin likely.

I am farming gear and waiting. That was my point.

I was replying to a post that suggested that “we know all we need to know, just start gearing them all” and I was pointing out that there are a lot of “unknowns” left that could have a big impact on how we prepare for the event.

I happen to be a big fan of this release method. I think it will still make them plenty of money but will reduce the negative impact on players (previously we had to “guess” at who would be needed and spend resources on them to prepare in time for the short event window, being annoyed at the wasted resources if we guessed wrong).

all i read was. "i won't get the GL toons anytime soon so I'm going to complain"

With them releasing 6 characters needed and their relic levels I think we can all figure out the way this will go. People will work on the six announced and then stockpile until the next ones are released. No need to hoard unless you are already set with those six.

Im willing to guarantee that the challenges will require you to do things with basically full factions with relics and all their ships.

There are plenty of people who got into this game, with the release of the Force Awakens, may be wholly suited to take on this event today!

Yeah, no doubt, 2 R7's thus far? And a few G13's like, which I said fans of the movie may have collected heavily.

Even myself, I'm not a huge fan of the new movies but I find myself, okay prepared as it is today!

This event is persistent, so it's at your own pace. There's no factor to make you panic farm...

My limited point was that people will wait till "all" the requirements are known and then choose a GL they want to go after. Which implies pure and simple hoarding "till" they release all the requirements and GL kits.
