Yeah, not liking this approach, its a bad implementation having it happen on every screen, should have been restricted to just the character screen. Alternatively they could have added this as a dropdown to settings with three options:
None - worked the old way
Favorites on Character Screen
Favorites Everywhere
Again, it seems to have made some people happy, but using settings rather than wholesale change could have helped make it more appealing to a larger audience.
