who deserves the mandalorian tag

Probably Mandalorians.

Ideally, they either don't have a Mando tag or if they do they add it to all of the old characters from the Mandalorian sector, & introduce a couple new ones.

Give "The Mandalorian" a Leadership ability that works with any Mando tag but also Scoundrels or Bounty Hunters.

Beskar v/s Durasteel isn't really an argument since Beskar was rare & NOT all Mando armor was made from it.
Durasteel is far more commonly used in armor and is far from "crap".

I also wouldn't mind if one of the leaders of Mandalore was made it into the game to be a 2nd group leader.
Maybe "The Dutchess" or her Sister. Maybe Sabine's mom. The Visla guy, I forget his name, that ruled Deathwatch.

The beskar versus durasteel thing is frankly irrelevant.

Right now, Jango's claim to being a Mandalorian at all is literally he said/he said. You can believe Jango. You can believe the government. But fact of the matter is there's no canon establishing one side or the other as true.

In Legends, there were a bunch of books that bent over backward to still have Boba and then Jango count as Mandalorians after Attack of the Clones and then Clone Wars nuked their backstories. But those are gone. Boba has about as much claim to the title as any of the clones and was mostly raised by Bossk. And Jango is ambiguous at best, so you're not gonna get a definitive canon conclusion one way or another.

I thought Filoni made it clear that the Fetts are not Mandalorian. I could be wrong though.

Filoni made it clear Filoni does not consider the Fetts Mandalorians. And he did make it pretty clear for Boba.

But what made it into the text for Jango is still just a he said/he said between an outlaw and an evil vizier, neither of whom is a reliable source in universe. So one or the other is lying, but either way would be consistent with the current canon.

I just think that since Filoni has even more creative control now, that what he thinks might be what matters here. If Filoni and Disney/Lucasfilm don’t want the Fetts to be considered “Mandalorian, for whatever reason, it’s safe to assume the devs of this game will probably stick to that. That’s if they even bring the Mandalorian tag to the game.

I think that a good way to settle this is to have a war. Then we can all call ourselves Mandalorian.

Disney's policy is that if it goes in a story, then it becomes canon. Reference books, word of god, script notes? Not canon.

Filoni's intent is clear, but until it goes into a story, it's not canon and other stories aren't bound by it.

The writers probably will stick to a presumption that Jango isn't a Mandalorian. But until they put harder evidence into a story, the current canon is "maybe."

That said? I don't think there's going to be a Mandalorian tag.

I do agree that what Filoni put into TCW was not concrete.

I also agree that there probably won’t be a Mandalorian tag, at least not anytime soon.
