Why is EA help desk useless?

So the other evening purchased "basic ally aid giftable" for my wife. Yes the whole family plays! Anyway, she never got it, and I thought maybe I had done something wrong and went ahead and did it again. This time getting her to check straight away. Nothing. I checked Google play and I have indeed been charged twice for "giftable 61".

 

Roll on 10 days later of sending screen shots over and over again of the same things and answering the same questions. This seems to be there answer:

 

"I completely understand your concern as an avid gamer myself and really wish I could assist you further, but I'm afraid the items have already been credited to your account and the purchases are showing as 'Self'. "

 

I purchased 2 gifts and they haven't been sent, am I being unreasonable to expect to get what I paid for and have it delivered to the person I selected? I'm not sure if they mean self as in me, or self as in a username "self" but I haven't had them and no one in my guild is called self. You can't buy it unless you select the guild member to gift it too

 

Either way, they haven't held up their end of the deal and they don't seem to care. Messing the game up is one thing, stealing my money is another. It's not a lot of money, but that's besides the point.

  • EA help is outsourced to another country entirely.  They have scripts they read from.  They really don't care about their players.  You will be asked to verify your account 7 times by 7 different people.  you will never get the same rep twice and they will ask the exact same question each time and act like they have no idea what the previous rep said even though you can see it on your end.  By the time most players get to anyone that can actually do anything they are so fed up they flame quit the chat.  It's all by design.  EA has done this for years and they honestly don't care.  You're just an ATM machine to them.  Just like this forum.  CG had a great forum that was lightyears ahead of this.  EA made them change to this format because, REASONS....no really it was contaminated blue milk from a space sea going mammal.  

    Anyway, good luck with getting what you paid for.  Stick with it and hold on to your hats and glasses, cause this here is the wildest ride in cyberspace.

    Thanks, that's the answer I expected, but I hoped not to get 🤣.  I'll keep banging my head on this brick wall and I'll keep talking to the help desk. If anyone wants to guess which method is more effective I'll let you know

    This is how they finished it 🤣. "We are going to ignore what you said, and pretend we are working on it and close the case with no answer" So I'll try again....

    Screw CG, they steal regularly, just peruse the forums.  Do a chargeback and get your money back as you are learning they simply don't care and won't refund your money.  I did a chargeback before and will do it, again, if they openly steal.

    It's done through Google play, and then that's attached to my debit card so not sure that's an option?

    If you have the screenshots of conversations with them and can show from your end that the items havent arrived and realistically done all possible actions, i would look at your google play receipts, raise a concern via googleplay and they usually are quite good in dealing with the request.

    Its not 100% but EA are terrible.  Once when they failed to provide me a bundle, i did it via my own bank account (some banks are terrible at this so this will depend on how you explain lack of receiving content - anyone had the 'take a picture of the non received parcel etc').

    I definitely would not give up. tag people at ea on here and i even got banned for it but i got the items i specifically bought.  Good luck and dont give up.
