My question is why don't counters apply to foresight the same way game-wide. Even with TFP, if his ship uses its special on a guy with retribution, the foresight is applied immediately and the counterattack misses, then the foresight buff is removed. However, if the TFP character attacks someone with a counter, they counter first and then foresight applies after damage is done. What gives?
This is infuriating! I'm not sure if it's a known bug but it happens in arena all the time when I face TFP with retribution up from GK or Chaze.
Yeah, exactly. Maybe @SnakesOnAPlane or someone wiser can explain this.
As someone above said, the mechanics for getting foresight are different. Tie figher (ship) gets foresight with it's attack. Tie fighter pilot gets foresight through his unique; see, at the end of his turn, tfp gains tm for each debuffed enemy and chances of foresight. So first he attacks, then he gets counterattacked, and then his unique gives him foresight- And yes, I just assumed his gender

TFP has a 35% chance for each debuffed enemy. You don't add three debuffed enemies and give him 105% chance. That means he has 3 rolls at 35% each and if any of those rolls hits, then he gets foresight. Plus you get screwy AI so the enemy dodges more/gets foresight more, but that is how it works.
What gives?
The description of tfp's unique states clearly that he gets foresight at the end of the turn and the counter attack is before the end of the turn. Other people, like rey, get foresight as a result of their attack and not at the end of the turn. The difference is thus explained and for once fair and WAI imo.
On the plus side, if your tfp has foresight on, he can attack someone with retribution, dodge the counter attack and then regain foresight... handy ;)- crzydroid9 years agoHero (Retired)

From what I can gather the odds are as follows on the assumption that each individual attempt is programmed as a unique dice roll with the 35/65 odds. This gives him the following total chances:
1 debuffed enemy = 35.00%
2 debuffed enemies = 57.75%
3 debuffed enemies = 72.54%
4 debuffed enemies = 81.15%
5 debuffed enemies = 87.40%
Tank:
6 debuffed enemies = 91.46%
7 debuffed enemies = 94.10%
Interestingly it would never reach 100% chance no matter how many debuffed enemies existed If you want the mathematical formula it would be as follows:
0.35 + 0.35 Σ 0.65^(n-1) ..... where n = number of debuffed enemies
After 3 debuffed enemies, your results seem to be off by 1% from what I'm getting.
Also, what is the summation over in your formula? 0.65^(n-1) is a constant. If you meant to say SUM i=1, N, then you would have 0.65^(1-1)=1 in your summation, and doing the expansion you would have p+p+SUM (other positive values). You see that in the case of p=0.5, this value exceeds 1. Also, if you meant to sum over i=0, N, you would wind up with q^(0-1) = 1/q, and in the case of q=0, this also presents a problem.
So I wad just a little confused and wondering if you could provide clarification on your formula. - scuba759 years agoLegendSeems agreement was reached that tfp 35% is not additive. Just to add this is very similar to jka reckless assault which Kozi has commented on that it is not cumulative but separate rolls.
X %chance of gaining a buff for number of x

Hiya!
Our team tested Jedi Knight Anakin and it appears he does grant Offense Up when he uses his Reckless Assault ability. An investigation confirms that this is working as intended. Please note the 25% chance is not cumulative, and it is a 25% chance rolled each time there is a crit. - Come on, TFP is one of the only balanced toons in the game, leave him alone! But this is WAI.

The percentages do not stack unlike counter chance.
Let's assume for the sake of my laziness of doing the calculation in my head that tfp has 33% chance to gain foresight per enemy.
First chance would be 33%, if that fails then we have another 33% to gain foresight so 33% of 66% is 22%. So 2 debuffed enemies is 55% = 33% + 22%. Another fail leads to 33% of 44% is about 15%. Thus we have about 70% for 3 enemies. Again I made simplifications in the decimal places, but the calculation method is correct
Mmmm yeah this is wrong. It very clearly stacks.- scuba759 years agoLegend

If by stacks you mean say there is 3 debuffed opponents he would have 3*35% = 105% chance to gain FS. That is not true. It is a seperate 35% roll for each debuffed opponent
here is TFP who has FS gaining FS after an attack with 4 debuffed opponents. You can tell he gains it again becuase you can see the green dodge and deflection pop up under the buff

here is TFP who has FS not gaining FS after an attack with 4 debuffed opponents. You can tell he doesn't gain it again because you don't see the green dodge and deflection pop up under the buff

Here is TFP not gain FS after landing 3 BI.

here is an intersting one showing TFP gaining FS twice because of the muliple rolls. Notice the dodge deflection flash twice.
